NEVER AGAIN

Posted Aug 6, 2012
Pros: Leaving
Cons: Arriving
Location: Located in the middle of no where
Firstly it was advertised that there is a western breakfast at this hotel which was not the case, it was stated that there was a swimming pool which there isn't and staff members were rude and not helpful what so ever, this is a non speaking English hotel. I do not recommend this hotel to any human beings, this hotel only suits the guangzhoe locals.

If all you can speak is English, stay away!!!!!

Pros: None
Cons: Communication, cleanliness, location.
First arrived at the hotel, difficulties to communicate. Nobody speaks English, and the whole staff stares at you like you have seven heads, sometimes even cracking jokes between them. Very uncomfortable. Finally went up to the room to find that the carpet had not been clean for at least 3 weeks... bigger problem when I tried to ask them to clean the carpet... long story short; they never did. No safe box in the room. Continental breakfast is a over statement, the restaurant offers a list of southern Chinese specialties (rice water, meat and broccoli, very spiced stuff) if you are a western you are going to be hungry. That aside I tried to taste some local flavors at diner one night and again, communication problems. I bailed out two days before because I just could not stand it.

The Master Hotel GZ

Posted Jan 7, 2012
Pros: The staff and restaurant and the room.
Cons: Not the hotels fault but the air quality in GZ is pretty low.
Location: Busy roads but the mountain is very accessible and there are plenty of parks and places of interest to visit.
I spent a wonderful 3 weeks in the Master Hotel. The room was beautiful with a view of Baiyun Shang (white cloud mountain). The reception staff were very friendly and helpful although I do recommend bringing a Chinese dictionary if your not a native speaker. I never came across the pool that was advertised but I was not really looking for it so it may be inside the hotel somewhere. The Master Restaurant is a credit to the hotel and I found the staff were as warm as the food was hot.The hotel is a little off the beaten track but cabs are cheap and there are plenty of things to look at if you prefer to walk.

写真に騙されてはいけない

Posted Mar 16, 2015
