Noisy Hotel, Unfriendly Receptionist

Posted Aug 27, 2015
Pros: Did not like anything about this hotel. It was somewhat dark, even the dining room which is highly publicized on their website.
Cons: First, the receptionist could be friendlier, and receptive to the clients. I saw an underwear under the opened lamp desk. Upgrade the two faucet sink.
Location: There were some historical landmarks within walking distance, and lots of stores in the "via peatonal".
Arrived about 9:00 PM, after a long bus trip. When I arrived, I was met by an unfriendly receptionist by the name "Joseline", saw it on her blouse tag. She assigned me room 211. I went to the room, and overheard lots of street traffic noise (motorcycles, and cars honking almost non-stop, and loud music and talking from the street below). I went downstairs to the receptionist and I inquired for a different room that was not as noisy. She told me that there were rooms available, but I had to upgrade and had to pay the difference from the double bedroom rate that I had already paid through Expedia. When she realized that I was not willing to pay the upgrade difference, she just deflected the whole thing by saying: "By 10:00 PM, the noise should subside". I told her that I truly needed a quiet room to be able to sleep. She continued with the same remark by saying that the noise would subside. By 1:30 AM, it was still very noisy, and I was still unable to sleep. Overall, I only slept intermittently for about 3 hours all night due to the tiredness. The windows are not sound proof. They are just the old style colonial wood. Also, late arrival people kept talking out loud in the hallway between 1:30 AM - 2:30 AM. I have traveled to 34 countries, and this was the worst hotel I ever booked to sleep. Since I was not able to sleep, the next day I was like a zombie. When I checked out, the receptionist did not even ask how was my stay. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL if you just want to sleep.

DE TRABAJO EN CIUDAD DE GUATEMALA

Posted Jul 19, 2015

Old historic hotel by the road.

Posted May 9, 2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: The Hotel is too old, old plumbing and no 3 way wall outlets.
Location: Good location and places nearby for fun.
Poor shower facilities, old historic hotel, no elevator and old furniture. No internet signal in the rooms and I did not get any at the lobby as I was told I would be able to get it by coming down, but it was always blocked and no explanation from anyone was given.
