I was given a gorgeous suite with what looked like a roman bath in my bathroom. It was a huge room! But the first night was tough because the air conditioning wasn't strong enough for the room. The staff had no problems giving me another room which was smaller but so comfortable....

Although this Riad is listed as Da Dahlane, it is also known as Riad Mullaoud. They may have knocked the two premises together or changed the name, but have failed to update any travel websites.
The room was pretty standard and came complete with a T.V. and satellite box (broadcasting mainly in French and German). Unfortunately, our ensuite did not have a door to the toilet. When we asked to move to a room that did we were told that this was typical Morroccan style. This was all well and good until we had a peek in the room opposite to us as it was being cleaned and noticed that its toilet did in fact have a door!
Breakfast didn't change much over the week, comprising of: seed bread, danish, coffee, drinking yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, a piece of fruit and a slice of coconut chocolate cake(!). The main problem was that as there hadn't been any rains this year our table was inundated with bees - a problem that could have been remedied if the confiture dish came with a cover...
Negatives aside on the whole the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, they were also happy to give advice on travel routes and the Riad also provided its own excursions (which in hindsight we wish we had taken advantage of).
The roof terrace was quiet a peaceful and the interior decor was lovely, including a water piece that ran through the centre of the building. It is also very close to the main square, souks and La Fonduk - a lovely, if a little pricey - restuarant.

"Comfortable hotel, good location, v friendly staff"
With the first minute we arrived to the hotel we felt very welcomed, Hassan was very helpful, taking our suitcases for us, we had very smooth check in and been shown to spacious, clean and comfortable room. The hotel is in very good location, in walking distance to many interesting places, we walk around the city with a pram every day. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we have not had any food apart from breakfast as our days were packed with lots of things which kept us away from the hotel, however the breakfast was great, tasty and plenty to choose from. To finalise, we had great time and would love to recommend the hotel to you.

The hotel decor was absolutely beautiful; traditional Morrocan, just what we were looking for! There were however, both pros and cons to our stay.
Firstly, hotel staff did not speak much English, so communicating was a little hard as we didnt speak french or arabic. However you could tell that staff were trying their best to give us great service despite the language barrier which was lovely.
Decor in rooms were stunning, however it was a little dirty in places. Eg fridge was dirty, bath tub tiles cracked etc. This didnt effect our stay so much, but wouldve been nice to see mended.
Also, the swimming pool had cold water so we couldnt swim during our stay. Breakfast was delicious, but it would have been nice to have a variety of hot food too. Lastly, there was no ironing facilities, only drycleaning, so i ended up having to buy an iron!
Despite the cons, the scenary was beautiful, and very well maintained. The hotel was situated in a great location, not far from local eateries and shops which was great. I would definitely stay there again, but will prepare a little better beforehand eg taking an iron, plug adaptor etc.
On the whole, 4/5 👍

The hotel itself was great, though there was one big mix up that caused quite a struggle for our stay.
Expedia booked our rooms through another booking agency, and doesn't work directly through Hotel Mont Gueliz, so upon our arrival to the hotel our reservations were not listed in the Hotel's computer. They needed a rather large deposit for our first night's stay since they had no proof of our reservation (my confirmation email through Expedia wasn't enough for them)
Expedia needs to find a way to work directly with this hotel so mix ups like this don't happen.
