      5/5 Excellent

        Relaxing and friendly

The room was clean and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed learning about their farming practices and would go back again.

          Lovely retreat

Loved the location among the trees. Apartment was cool even on hot days. Steve and Pam were happy to offer suggestions, but also to leave us to pursue our own plans.

            Beautiful landscape. However...

I struggled with writing this review having felt that I may have found my inspirational writing spot...but that idea ended. The host Stephen was very informative, all though I wasn't expecting it...on how their farm opperates, supports the environment, and how him and others alike share the concept of sustainable living. I appreciated the talks the fact that Stephen picked us from downtown when Uber and the local taxi were no where in sight. However, I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the condition of the house and the inconsistency of accommodations , i.e,providing us with coffee our last day, although the idea of the hosts, the offer to try their home grown beer, ALSO the idea and suggestion of the hosts, not to mention them inviting us to have dinner (we had other plans but agreed) only once again to be informed that dinner wasn't happening. They wanted us to be accommodating to them with Our time it seemed, ie, Stephen yelling up the balcolny"are we gonna have thattour or what"? "I'm sorry...did I miss something...I came to relax, not take a tour on your time and how rude of you to yell, like I'm some child (cultural humility is not on the menu here".. I felt as though Stephen was far more approachable than Pam. There's, more and this is my final comments on a beautiful place, The house was absolutely filthy! We brought our own food and when I opened the fridge, there were pieces of hair in there and clearly it hadn't been cleand in a very, very long time. The house has a strange odor that is Musty and in every thing ...bedding..furniture...towels. there was food caked on the stove, a pot that had rusted was out for use, food particles on the dish rack, window ledges with dustand dead bugs, cob webs...the linnen was so filthy... duvet was brown covered in stains, the top of the blanket over the duvet had animal fir ALL over it,and it too was dusty. We had to go to Santa Rosa and purchase a comforter to sleep on and clean towels. The floors are not vacuumed/cleaned and its not from the farms grounds or from the forest or the trees, its just not clean. I am.sorry to leave such a review (my first ever) but for what I paid, to get the inconsistency, the "selling pitch" on sustainability when all I wanted to do was relax, and the condition of the house has led to this. I hope this is helpful to Stephen and Pam.Perhaps hire someone to clean the house if you can't or don't want to do it. Honestly a partial refund is in order.
