Lovely little Lodge in the middle of a forrest. Fulfilled our expectations. Clean and big rooms, lovely host and nice breakfast with fresh fruits!

    OK, but disappointing

The pictures provided when booking did not match our room at all. The bed was comfortable and room clean, but they don’t provide housekeeping unless you are staying more than 3 days. Bathroom was very small. Only modest continental breakfast provided. Charged for kitchenette but only had mini fridge, small microwave and small bar sink. A few dishes but no utensils. Room was very cold and the room heater was insufficient, they did provide an additional space heater when we asked. We didn’t like the loud unpleasant live music from a neighboring venue for 4 hours, 6pm till 10pm, on Saturday.

The staff was very nice and helpful and the breakfast was fine. It wasn’t terrible, just a bit too on the funky side for us. There was a very dangerous step up when you entered the bathroom and there was no soundproofing so we could hear everything. Luckily there weren’t many people there because it was the middle of winter. It was a bargain price for a reason, but I’ll bet some people just love the whole package.

    Great locale. Needs updating.

High points: beautiful area in wine country, redwood forest, and nearby beaches and hiking; sleepy town nestled in forest; friendly staff; nice breakfast spread in lobby; free WiFi, flat screen TV. Low points: crowded, noisy roadhouse next door on Saturday night; tiny room that badly needs updating. $115 per night seemed overpriced.
