Peaceful, quiet.

Posted Nov 29, 2017
Pros: Refer to above.
Cons: Pool heated and able to use, the weather was perfect on the foggy and crisp nights. But instead, all was shut down.
Location: Quaint town with night life as well as day. Great spirit full of a local vibe not very often felt.
Very nice cottage type room. Separate from front desk area. Over thanksgiving time. Comfort and peaceful. Front desk very helpful in recommendations in town. Her way of friendliness represented the hotel ver well.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback! We are sorry for our chilly pool; as marketed, our pool is not heated in the offseason. This is one of the many ways we trip back a bit to make it possible to keep our staff on year round in a summer tourist community. All of our rooms are discounted this time of year as well, to create balance through the changing season.

Nice location

Posted Nov 26, 2017
Pros: The location and size of the rooms.
Cons: Firmer mattress and updated bathroom. One of the floor tiles was loose.
Location: Well situated - nice views, quiet, but the town was easily accessible.
Our room had a nice view of the vineyard and the location of the inn was close to the town center for restaurants and shops. The room was comfortable but the bed was soft and a bit saggy.

Surprise

Posted Nov 18, 2017
If you can get passed the spider in your towels then it was good. It was very quiet and everything was within walking distance. Hotel staff was great but didn't like all the critters crawling around!

Oh no! That is terrible, and I am so sorry our wildness was so excited to see you! Sometimes it's even too wild for some of us here at WSI! We have just employed a new pest support company and I am sure we will get the beasts wrangled! If you have a moment to shoot us a note so we can know which room was being creepy, that would be very appreciated.

Great room in rural environment

Posted Oct 27, 2017
Pros: The locations near the redwood trees and coastal locations. The rooms were clean and updated and the bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Fix the bridge over the creek. Maybe earlier hours for the office to open.
Location: Wineries to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The coastal road (Hwy 1 - PCH) to Fort Ross is very windy and high over the ocean.
October 2017: We stayed in one of three rooms across the creek from the main part of the complex. The room looked to be recently renovated and it was very clean and comfortable. The bed was thick and soft and the room was relatively large and it included a refrigerator. Only down side about these three rooms is that there is only parking for two cars in front and the parking is a little tight. Only issue here is when I was loading and unloading car. The bridge over the creek is in need of repair, but the walk to the office area is maybe 1-2 minutes. There is also a homeless man living under the bridge over the creek, but more about that later. The town looks to begin to close down about this time of the year. Many eating establishments between the town and Bodega Bay were closed, and we were limited to outside seating as we travel with a dog. If you are in a similar situation (traveling with a dog), I recommend calling dog friendly places first to ensure that they are open. We walked to a pizza place in town along Main St. There were a number of people in the parking lot of the store next to B of A and based on the smell of pot, I assume that they medical conditions and/or the new pot laws begin in the north part of the state. Based on the sleeping bags and shopping carts, many also appeared to be homeless. I have no issue with pot, but I was concerned that one of the people was acting out in a very aggressive manner towards another in the group. I felt uncomfortable.

I am so sorry you felt uncomfortable in our community. Guerneville is on record for having a larger homeless population than San Francisco per capita. As an unincorporated area with very little support from our localized government, we do our absolute best to take care of all of our neighbors; whether they have homes or not. And it is true, cannabis culture is not shunned here, and so people living within those parameters are not hidden away. It's most definitely not for everyone. Though, this truth is also very well known! Like all summering communities, the summer must end at some point. And regardless of our climates change and these unseasonably hot spells, October is the end of summer for Guerneville. We hope you enjoy all future visits! Safe travels!

Comfy cabin

High mattress beds, full Comcast tv choices, ants patrolling here and there, hot water tank can run out if you're wasteful, cell phone service is spotty.

Great location!

Posted Oct 2, 2017 on Hotels
Perfect location. Within walking distance to beach, grocery (large fridge in room), restaurants. Clean and lots of space. Pillows are hard, comfortable bed though jiggly. Noisy, can hear people walk up/down wood stairs, and walking around upstairs room (we were first floor). Brunch had plenty of food if you have a sweet tooth. Yoghurt, granola, breads were all sugary. I only could eat the hard boiled eggs and fruit. Overall, good stay for the walkability, cleanliness and comfortable bed. Bring your own pillows.
