Le Chalet Guernsey -ExcellentPosted Jan 5, 2012 on Hotels
This hotel closed for a refit the day after we left and I had some concerns about how it would be, but I should not have worried. Robin and his staff could not have been more welcoming and they made our short stay over the New year most enjoyable. We had one of the rooms in the older part of the hotel and the views were magnificent, when it was not raining. Check-in and Checkout were quick and easy and we look forward to returning when the hotel finally reopens we just hope that Robin and his staff are still in charge. Parts of the hotel are a little old but in this case it just added to the character of the place. All staff were helpful polite and nothing was too much trouble. Robin is just what the UK hotel market needs and we wish them all the luck for the future. The hotel is situated just above Fermain Bay and has easy access to St Peter Port and the cliff paths for walkers. Access is a little restricted, down a very narrow lane, but if you go to Guernsey you don't expect motorways. Food was consistantly good and hot, if they tell you the plate is hot believe them. The hotel has plenty of lounge areas and outside patio areas if visiting in the summer and would be an excellent base for exploring the island.

a pleasant stay at Le Chalet hotelPosted Sep 29, 2011
We had a pleasant stay at Le Chalet hotel for 4 days. The hotel has easy access to the Fermain bay by a foot path and fatastic view from the cafe terrace. Both the breakfast and dinner are massive and well cooked. The staffs are very friendly and informative. The room is bit dated but quite clean. We were told the hotel will do the refurbishment shortly. We would be very happy to stay in this hotel again next time.

Location disappointingPosted Jun 19, 2011
The hotel needs modernising as it is quite dated. Also must inform guests that it is difficult to get to Town as it is tucked down a steep valley!!
