Offered an upgraded, very spacious room at a sensible price. Rooms and general areas comfortable and somewhat quirky. Better seating in the dining area (orangery) would be beneficial. Personal selection for breakfast was good but the area was rather cramped and would benefit from reconfiguration. Not sure if the two leapord skin thrones in the bar/dining area added anything at all to the decor! As in most of Guernsey parking is at a premium especially as the hotel has only 5 dedicated spaces. The hotel was nicely positioned for us. The walk to the waterfront was about 10 minutes and all downhill. Which of course means the return was all uphill and was quite steep in places. Those less agile may wish to consider this. We enjoyed our stay at the Duke of Richmond which was good value.

Would definitely recommend
Lovely hotel at top of very steep hill (advise getting taxi if have luggage). Staff were all excellent and couldn’t do enough for you. Room spotless but felt a bit cramped due to layout and all the furniture. Breakfast choices and quality were superb. Evening meal and drinks very nice but expensive. Heated pool and surrounding area was 10/10. Among our visits were Cobo bay and Sark and would highly recommend both as day trips. Didn’t find we needed a car as buses so cheap and reliable.Overall really enjoyed a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The Duke of Richmond provided a lovely base whilst in Guernsey - it certainly did not have the normal hotel noises i.e. doors closing or toilets flushing - felt that the sound proofing was great. The decor was extremely comfortable too. I have been visiting Guernsey for a good number of years but this was the first time staying at DOR but it will not be the last - well recommended do not feel any one would be disappointed.

Excellent hotel. Conveniently situated in a quiet area about 10 to 12 minutes walk to St Peter Port. Excellent choices of continental or cooked breakfast. Both services for breakfast or dinner a bit slow, but this compensate for the nice meals provided by the chef and the attentive staff. We chose a double room which have all the facilities one expects for a 4 star hotel. Very comfortable bed, roomy bathroom/shower. Will certainly recommend Duke of Richmond hotel and a Guernsey visit. We will certainly return..

Fantastic stay
Fantastic hotel. We had a standard room and it was much bigger than it looked on the photos. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent. Staff are very attentive and friendly and can not do enough for you. Highly recommended, we'll be back!

Beautiful hotel interior oozing quality customer c
We stayed in the penthouse suite as it worked well for our son to have a seperate bedroom allbeit a sofabed. Hotel is beatifully decorated and staff very friendly and helpful. Only negatives are that the bed was extremely hard, pillows too soft and breakfast service was very slow service and items not cooked as requested.

We have stayed here before prior Covid and standards have dropped compared to our last vist . Staffing in restaurants was poor although staff were pleasant it was unorganised and continuous lengthy periods of waiting . Over an hour for a coffee. Constantly forgetting orders or getting them wrong . Lots of staff but very unorganised staf seen chatting when customers were still waiting . Food was really expensive and not worth the price. We paid £19 for a sandwich. Service charge was ridiculous 12.5 % and applied to every order including extra £5 for room services. Room was clean but looked tired and needs updating. Throughout our stay the cleaner's just made the bed .Not doing a full clean. Towels at pool area were not always available and often no staff around to tidy up Reception Staff were great. This hotel had an excellent reputation but I don't think that will last with dropping standards and how expensive it is to stay here including expensive below standard food

The room was comfortable. Reception staff were very welcoming. The pool did not work for our entire stay and that was the reason we chose the hotel. The food was below average, I had sea food linguine I couldn’t take 3 bites. My partner actually had to send back a stale water melon at breakfast. However the waiting staff were friendly, we enjoyed our sleep but would not come back again.

Staff are amazing at this hotel. They make your stay very special. The food is wonderful. Always plenty of choice for breakfast and we can highly recommend dinner. The wines were very nice. The standard room we stayed in was very clean but small. Limited storage for clothes. Lovely bed and pillows. Nice toiletries and big fluffy robes and slippers. The location is good up a bit of a hill from the harbor but most things are on a hill in St Peters Port. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Have visited several times before and sadly found the hotel looking a bit tired and in need of redecoration. The main disappointment was in the quality of customer service. unfortunately a shadow of its former self - no longer worthy of its high room tariffs.

Lovely hotel with lots of attention to detail. Comfy bed with lovely bedding. Robes, slippers and towels all of excellent quality. Breakfast menu was substantial and excellent service. Pool and terrace lovely and relaxing. Dinner menu was a little pricey and £5 surcharge for room service was off putting. I would have liked to have had a recyclable waste option in the room. Shop across the road was handy but dining options are all quite a walk away down (and back up) a steep hill. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again

Good location. Nice enough hotel, but the room was so cramped due to unessasary furniture. Two chairs and a table that is not needed and very rarely used I would bet. Cramped bathroom, but excellent shower.
