this property is really nice, it has a nice breakfast selection and a great pool. the only thing that i didn’t like was people leaving their pool towels on the sunlounges first thing in the morning to secure a sun lounge. some people would leave the towels on there all day and never return until 5pm which meant other people missed out. i think a rule needs to be put in place so you can’t put your towel out and go do something for the rest of the day, it isn’t fair to other tourists wanting to use the pool. 3 people next to me put their towels out and never came back at all. but other than that, the resort is in a good location and there’s plenty of nice restaurants around.

Very cheap price with very good environment Best breakfast buffet ever, delicious food, lots of choices Walking to the most busy area just 20 mins but for sure you can have everything just 1 min from your hotel If you dont expect luxury hotel, this is the best choice

Great stay at Baan Talay
We had a terrific week at Baan Talay. Right on a fine strip of beach on the quieter end of Chaweng this small hotel was perfect for us to relax and unwind. Our family room was attractive and well designed with lots of storage space. Breakfast was a good mixed selection of Thai and non Thai food. Staff, especially Plam and Chai were very attentive and May the manager was very approachable and dealt promptly with our queries and requests. The hotel is within easy walking of shops, travel agents and restaurants whilst being away from the main hustle and bustle. We had a brilliant stay and would do it again!

Baan Talay is a very good resort. Rooms are clean and spacious pool is great and everything is only steps from a great beach. The Hive beach bar where breakfast is served could use a bit of a renovation as was looking a bit old and worn. Although very friendly, some of the staff at reception didn’t understand English making it difficult with requests. The free wifi connection was not reliable.

Upgrade!
We booked a standard room and on check-in they upgraded us to a deluxe room with a better garden view! The staff were all very friendly and the property was amazing with a great view!

Hotel in good location great pool quiter part of town but still near most things .but for what you pay rooms very tired doors don’t fit properly needs upgrading aircons need to be serviced or replaced had to move from first room as aircon was fault and even the next room aircon had probs ie the thermostat didn’t seem to work staff were great.but overall would stay again if they sorted the minor problems out thanks to all the great staff at Baan Talay

The breakfast was lovely and hotel is right on the beach which was very clean. Staff are friendly and very happy to help. The area is very quiet and whilst this is very relaxing if you are looking for evening entertainment there is very little going on. Rooms are well equiped and clean but the hotel could do with a lick of paint

Good place for its price
Really nice place, beautiful hotel. The pool is awsome. The restaurant (The hive) is placed directly on the beach providing a facinating view. The breakfast is good. The bad point was that we received a room that is far fron the beach so we had noise come from the street (Advertising cars..)

Lovely hotel
We picked this hotel because it was near to the hospital, but never expected the help which we recieved, which was over and above our expectations. Nothing was to much trouble and their helpfulness was way above anything we could have expected. The hotel backs on to the beach, and an execelant buffet/freshly cooked breakfast done in front of you if wanted.

Our stay was excellent. We dint expected the location of the hotel would be so mesmerizing. Amazing view near the beach. I visited various places in Thailand but my stay at Baan Talay- Koh Samui was extremely special. Staff is very friendly and cooperative. Must visit location.

Best thing about it was our view of the beach. We stayed in other resorts in Thailand and it was much more welcoming. The first staff member we met at reception wasn’t very helpful but all other staff were great.

Hotel is ok- we stayed in one of the rooms facing the water. The bathrooms are very old and not exactly clean. The seating on the beach is very limited- around 20 chairs. Pretty far from the main strip.

7 Days at Baan Talay
Just returned from a 7 Night stay at Baan Talay. This was a great place to hang out, I choose not to do any major tours. I was happy to sit on the beach, lounge by the pool and catch up on some much needed sleep. Rooms comfortable, air con, tv and wifi worked well. Good selection for Breakfast.

Good place to stay.
The property was clean. The garden-view room faced an ivy-covered wall, but was a bit secluded so if you want some privacy, this is a good room for that. However, there are many mosquitoes at the garden-view rooms, and no mosquito coil and/or spray will deter them. The air conditioner in our room was struggling, so I opened the cover only to find 2mm of dust on the filters. I cleaned the filters myself under running water, but then realized that the filters were also moldy. Staff needs to take care of this -- it's a health hazard. The beach / pool-side parasols / umbrellas were all rusted, and half of them were broken. This is unacceptable, and also a health hazard someone cuts themselves on the rusty metal! Some of the pool-side wood loungers had nails sticking out of the wood. I alerted the staff, and this was fixed with the loungers we used. The included breakfast was good - there was plenty of food for everyone. This part of the beach is better for swimming than other parts of Chaweng that have a reef. The pool was big and clean, though some tiles were cracked or falling off. Overall, a good place to stay, but far from perfect.

We booked a deluxe bungalow for a few nights at this place and had a "lukewarm" experience. For Thailand hospitality standard, they can do much better as the reception staff doesn't seem to be very enthusiastic about her job at all. She kept a straight face most of the time and forced a smile only after we smile at her. So much for trying to feel a little "welcome" during a vacation. The staff at the cafe/ house-keeping is a lot friendlier though. I strongly recommend to improve the front desk training as this is the first point of contact for all your guests and it is not a good start to their stay trying to "earn her smile" . I personally feel that this place is overpriced for this level of service-- We have received much better services in hotels costing half of this. Bathroom facilities are installed in wood, so there's quite a bit of wear and tear. They change sheets every 4 days. Bath/face towels are not kept in great conditions( they look tired-- a little yellow and grey tone instead of the white ones one will expect from a hotel charging at this rate in Thailand) Breakfast spread is decent with a gorgeous view ( the only best part of the hotel) Pool is quite shallow and often flooded with families with kids ( more family friendly, not exactly couple friendly) TV options are non-existent with very bad reception ( grainy pictures in every channel), and a cumbersome Wifi that requires re-log in every 2-3 hours. We gave up and had better luck using our own Wi-Fi

For the price we paid we loved this hotel. A little far from the hustle and bustle but that is only a 5 minute ride on a tuk tuk. Quiet location, beautiful pool, amazing beach views, fantastic staff goin above and beyond. Would definitely come back here

Nice hotel in the south area of chewang beach. Got a free upgrade, so that was great. Pool is nice and breakfast is ok. Would definitely recommend. Good value option.

Fantastic position Right on the beach
My husband & I just spent 18 days at Baan Talay & highly recommend it to anyone that wants the best of both worlds , Do everything or do nothing, Staff are fantastic, Little Rad our house keeping girl is a gem, The restaurant staff are friendly & very welcoming, the pool was crystal clear everyday 24/7 Nothing to fault at all

Great hotel - bang on the beach and good service
We had a great stay in Baan Talay. It's bang on the beautiful Chaweng beach and close to lots of eateries, pubs, shops and all. All of us enjoyed playing in the crystal clear waters of the sea. Kids also enjoyed splashing in the well-maintained pool. The rooms are good, though could be a little bigger. The service is good, although the restaurant staff gets overwhelmed sometimes.

Not a bad option
It's on the quiet southern end of Chaweng Beach, so while it's not isolated it's decently far removed. The standard rooms are no-frills, as you'd expect at this price point, but still nice enough and private enough. The pool and beach areas are both quite nice and more than sufficient. On the down side, the rooms could absolutely use some updating - especially the showers. The service situation at the beach is pretty laughable. Everyone just leaves their old beers and cups, and no one cleans up all day. It's not dirty by any means, but just an odd thing to neglect. Not to mention it's nearly impossible to find an umbrella... though this is mostly the fault of inconsiderate fellow hotel guests.

A friendly resort without the noise and party that is usually on chaweng. Perfect for kids and people that actually want to sleep at night. Pretty cheap bar and a breakfast buffet for champions.

Very nice boutique hotel on the beach
We stayed here one night Location is very modern, great ambiance, cool setup of the rooms. Beach and pool are both very nice. If you want a quiet romantic hotel this is for you. Not many young travellers. Location was far from the core of Ko Samui. Needed a moped or a taxi to get to the core or Arc bar. Otherwise was a 30 minute walk. Overall a very nice place to relax.

We came to honey moon and it was amazing hotel for honey moon, The hotel has private beach with soft sand, very romantic and relaxing beach. The view from the pool is beautiful, straight to the sea!! The breakfast is varient and tasty!! We love the room since they thought about all the tiny details in the room. The staff (especially May, If, Saw and Tikka) are very generous and kind, smiling all the time and very helpful!! we definitely come back and hope to see again this amazing stuff :) This hotel improve our staying in Ko Samui and we definitely will return only to this hotel!!! Very recommended hotel!!! Sharon & Orit. (14-17.10).

Me and my roommate went for a week to thailand, and stayed in the baan talay for 3 days! and we loved it... we got upgraded to pool view, and it was right in front of the ocean, which was awesome! the breakfast is amazing, and the service was great! They helped us organize some tours, and gave us directions when we needed. The happy hour at the bar was the best! their drinks are amazing! :) overall excellent hotel for an awesome price!

Nice beachfront room
I had a great stay and enjoyed the entire experience in the Beach Front View room. The service was exceptional, and upon accidentally leaving all my valuables in the safe box, the staff were kind and honest enough to keep them for me and return them safely. To conclude, I overall had a great time at the hotel and would recommend it highly.

Clean, beachy, hotel in a fantastic location. Rooms are spacious. Staff are friendly. Relaxing feel as soon as you walk in. Loved the restaurant location. Loved the straw beach bag with towels for use for duration of stay. Just loved this hotel and we will definitely stay here again!
