Nice hotel right on the beach.

Posted Nov 20, 2017
Nice hotel right on the beach. Construction was going on in front of the hotel, so kind of hard getting in and out. Room we had was huge. It was clean and nice. The only thing was it was windy out and all night long the wind was blowing our door and we were inside and not where that should happen. Restaurant inside the hotel was very good for breakfast, just over priced. Overall a great visit.

Basic hotel for people that don’t stay inside when traveling.

The hotel is old but well maintained. The beds and pillows are comfy. The kitchenette doesn't have enough pans and plates to cook much in. The A/C is cold. It's not near the beach , it's on the beach. A bit pricey.

Hurricane Irma evacuees.

Posted Sep 14, 2017 on Hotels
We were evacuees from Hurricane Irma from Ft. Myers, FL. We had a long journey to get there, when we arrived, we found out Hotels.com had overbooked the hotel, I paid ahead, and it was non-refundable, we were exhausted and worried sick. The people at this hotel were so accomodating, even though they were overbooked, they found us a room, a very nice room with a kitchenette, the next day they switched us to a Gulf-front room for the same price, and gave us a voucher for free breakfast for our family of 5! One of the hotel owners came by to talk to us personally while we were at breakfast. We weren't the only evacuees there, but this hotel made us feel special, they were so warm and friendly, and empathetic! Of course they have been through many hurricanes, themselves. I just want to say this hotel was awesome, and rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and the beach is beautiful also! We will never forget this experience, and Best Western helped make it at least somewhat less stressful!

Good location

Posted Sep 9, 2017
Pros: good location
Cons: The restaurant needs improvement.
Location: Great location. It's right on the beach and near plenty of restaurants.
Great location and friendly front desk staff. I would not recommend going to the Island Pancake House because it took forever. The servers were not friendly or helpful and the food wasn't worth it.

Not worth the rate. I feel like the reason the rate was so high was because it was one of the only one available on Labor Day weekend that is on the beach. The staff was welcoming and very nice. The room was nice. But the hotel needs upgrading because it's getting to be one of the older ones on the beach. The rate that I paid is something that a three bedroom condo charges. I know because I've been coming to the beach and golf Shores or Orange Beach for my entire life. At least once or twice in the summer.
