It's a Hilton.

Location: Location is central in the city but you need car, taxi or tour bus in this town to see the key sights in the outlying areas.
Clean and quite plush, just shy of a 5 star hotel. The restaurant selection was limited due to the closing of one of them on a Tuesday night. Breakfast was not included and a bit pricey for the offerings. Overall, quite a pleasant one night stay, however.

Excellent Facilities, Convenient Transportation

This Hilton is located a little distance ($13 by cab) from downtown Gyeongju. Busses numbers 10, 11 and 200, the busses for sightseeing and for downtown ($1.30) have stops that are 5 minute walk away. There are nice restaurants and coffee shops at the other side of a wide street. Coming in from Seoul to Singyeongju ( the KTX station for Gyeongju), we took Bus 200 which dropped us off right across the property. We were very pleased with our stay here. The cleanliness, the fitness facilities, the layout of our suite, the very comfortable bed, the pastry shop by the lobby, the free wifi, the helpful concierge were all top notch. We did not try the restaurants on the premises. Perhaps because one side of our suite was all glass, lighting in our room was on the dim side.

Fantastic restaurants on premise

Pros: Kenji, the Japanese restaurant on premise - better than any Japanese restaurants in Kyoto, New York, Los Angles or Hawaii.
Cons: The lobby is a very large space but so sparsely decorated that it does not feel welcome. A large scale artwork would fill the space nicely.
Location: It was a bit remote from downtown, but in the new tourism development area. With fabulous restaurants on premise, I didn't miss being in the downtown.
The room was very clean, quiet and well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful. Kenji, the Japanese restaurant on premise has THE BEST Japanese food. It is superb: sushi, tempura, soups, anything. It is a culinary treasure. The cafe in the lobby offers great coffees and snacks. Since the sightseeing locations are scattered around all over Gyungju, I wish the hotel provides car+chauffeur service: the hotels in Seoul provides this service at hourly rate. We were lucky to find a local taxi driver who took us all around, but I would have been more comfortable to get into a car recommended by the hotel.

Excessively pricey

Pros: Concierge, rooms
Cons: Pricing very unattractive. Charging for the pool, really?
Location: A little isolated. Once you are at the hotel, not inexpensive to leave again for town.
The hotel itself is nice and the concierge service very helpful. But the prices charged for food, drinks and the random $20 surcharge to use the hotel swimming pool for instance, are just outrageous.

Would stay here again.

The hotel has been kept up well in my opinion. We booked a mountain view room but we ended up with a lake view room that also had a balcony. It was a wonderful surprise! We had room service one night and the quality was good. The breakfast has a great variety as well. The location is farther away from many of the cultural attractions but we had our own car so it was no problem. The location is very relaxing so it was nice to end the day there.

It was good. They have great service, facilities and so on except one thing. They don't offer tooth brush and paste. So I paid about 6 bucks.

expensive but very standard

Overall Hilton is a good hotel, however when you compare it to the price of the room it is overpriced and not worth it. Several restaurants on site, slightly expensive. We ate at the Chinese restaurant, which were good. The room is fairly standard in terms of what you get. Bathroom could have been cleaned better. God sized balcony with chairs that would be great on a sunny day. The hotel lies in the resort area of the city, which is very pleasant.

Good place to relax

The reason we selected this hotel was that it had a pool. Unfortunately, the pool was closed the day we were there. We had a very nice lunch at the hotel but just a warning, two caffe lattes cost us $AUD26! We also paid for a cab from the KTX station only to find out that a No. 700 bus would have dropped us almost outside our hotel for a fare of 1500 Won each - one tenth the price of the cab.
