Pros: Comfortable bed, good bar specials
Cons: Pool area was to hot and humid. Better selection for breakfast
Location: Location was easy to find. Only stayed overnight
Room was fine but had a very moldy smell. Breakfast was very limited at 8:00AM because they had fed two bus loads of people at 7:00 AM

Average, no better.Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: It had all the amenities that I like in a hotel.
Cons: Hotel bar and breakfast.
Location: Although I wasn't there to visit Civil War sites, this hotel would be great for a trip to visit, Gettysburg, Harper's Ferry, Winchester, and Antietam.
This was a motorcycle trip to participate in the Rolling Thunder Ride-To-The-Wall Memorial Day weekend event. I arrived to find out that this Clarion is also a Rodeway Inn. I don't stay at Rodeway because I've never had a good experience in one. I have to say it's been a long time since I did, but if I'd known I would have bypassed this one. However, I have to say this was not so bad. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. All the amentities one would expect are included. Everything in the room was just fine. I always have a cocktail or two once I get off the road and I had to search for a bar in the hotel. It was about 4:00 in the afternoon and I had a powerful thirst. I asked at the front desk if there was an open bar on the property. "Oh, Yeah, there's Barefoot Bernie's just go down the corridor and through the double doors." Right, after walking all over the so called convention center like a rat in a maze I found the place on the lower level, obviously the directions need a little more detail or better signage so you don't have to rely on a desk clerk. BTW, Bernies looks like a good place to pick up chicks if you are a bar tender. Two that I had during my stay seemed to be more interested in the cuties at the bar than waiting on me. Aparently, they don't need the money just the hook up opportunities they have working there. We stayed two nights but only had breakfast coupons for one breakfast. Breakfast doesn't serve until 7:00 AM and it was OK but not great.

"Hot" BreakfastPosted May 25, 2015 on Hotels
When we checked in the front desk staff was attentive, responsive, and upbeat. Except for a stain on one of the bedspreads, the room was clean, neat, and smelled fresh. The air conditioner in the room was exceptionally loud, the pillows were small, the bathroom door stuck and was unable to be closed or opened without considerable force. The toilet needed to be flushed several times as the flush was weak and the bowl didn't empty each time. Last, there was a big chunk of tile missing from behind the toilet, leftover from when it was replaced. The hot breakfast was served poolside, which is fine as long as you can stand the smell of chlorine. The attempt at serving a hot breakfast was half-hearted. There were two non-commercial toasters that took at least 5 minutes to make toast. The waffle batter was tangy, not in a buttermilk way, but in a been-left-out-of-the-fridge way. Banana was the only fruit offered, the eggs were very dry and cooked in a patty shape, and no potatoes were offered.

Enjoyable stayPosted May 8, 2015 on Hotels
Very pleasant stay; my granddaughter enjoyed the pool, and the desk clerk (manager?) was very accommodating and helpful. Also it was convenient to the places we needed to go. Breakfast options a bit limited, restaurant perfectly okay for lunch.

Good hotel, nice facilitiesPosted May 4, 2015
Pros: Very pleasant indoor pool area.
Just wanting a one night stopover, I did not expect it to be downtown. It was a bit hard to find, but the hotel had very good facilities and the staff was very good and very cooperative.

Hagerstown ClarionPosted May 1, 2015 on Hotels
This is our first stay at a Clarion and it won't be our last. The room was very clean and the staff was extremely friend. The hotel looks like it may be a little older and may have been renovated recently.

Would be a nice place to stay for more than 1 day!Posted Apr 30, 2015
Hotel staff was wonderful and checking in was a breeze, pet friendly and has a nice indoor pool. We stayed in a non poolside room which was nice because there was no chlorine smell. Breakfast is next to the pool in a pretty environment. Beds were comfortable and had a nice selections of different pillows. Barefoot Bernie's is next door and food was excellent, crowd was enjoyable and bar was fully stocked. Overall, I was very happy with our stay.
