Staff were pleasant & efficient. When I inadvertently left a gift bag in foyer before going out to dinner, staff went out of their way to call my cell to alert me and saved it for me.

You get what you pay for

Just so so. Good for a cheap hotel. Bed was not that comfortable. Heater in room took a while to figure out and didn't heat that well.

Hotel is pretty nice clean the room we were in wasn’t very big but of course the price was right and it was comfortable

Never again.

Location: Waffle house nearby, only bright spot.
Ive been performing music, and traveling for over 20 years. This Microtel in Hagerstown has to be the worst experience I have ever had. Check in: I walk in the front door. Its abandoned. Mouse quiet. TV off, about 5:30pm on a Saturday. I say hello loudly. No answer. After about 5 minutes i finally hear some snoring. The front desk clerk is passed out in a chair behind the desk, behind another doorway in a back room. I yell hello. No answer, no movement. I start banging a plaque on the desk as loud as I could. The man finally wakes up. Checks me into a FILTHY smoking room. The walls are stained with smoke and nicotine. The bathroom is stained with a layer of soot. The smell was so bad, my tux was rancid with cigarette smoke after spending 1 hour in the room. Not a good way to show up to a show that night. My clothes that I took home stink badly, needed to be washed, and my bag dry cleaned. Check out is very clearly marked everywhere for 11am. I'm in the shower 10:15am, housekeeping is pounding on the door, i don't answer. I get out of the shower, phone is ringing 10:20am. Front desk agent says "while check out is 11am, how would you like to pay for staying over a 2nd night". I say I'm checking out, ill be down in maybe 10 minutes. "oh ok". Very stern, and very rude front desk agent. I will never stay here again, I will tell everyone I can find working music in Hagerstown not to stay here. This Microtel made a motel 6 look like a Ritz Carlton.

Non smoking doesn't mean non smoking

Purposely didn't book the smoking room. However the other rooms did not say "non-smoking". Checkin clerk advised us the only rooms available were smoking rooms, and that Expedia pushes they reservations to smoking all the time. Room was extremely smoky and dingy,

Pros: Clean
Room is very small. We can hear people in next room. The room has no coffee pot, microwave or refrigerator. It is too close to interstate and you get lots of noise.

Perfectly Fine for a Night's Stay

Hagerstown is along several routes if you're visiting sites in the area so it is very convenient. (We chose it because it's in driving distance of Gettysburg, Harper's Ferry, Shenandoah Valley, etc.) Good place to sleep and move on, and this hotel was perfectly adequate for that. Standard room, standard continental breakfast. Room was pretty clean though our sheets were slightly musty. Near all the wonders Hagestown has to offer--Waffle House, Burger King, Wal*Mart, that sort of thing.
