Easy access to pretty much everything SFOPosted Oct 31, 2015
Bare bones.. but clean and close to pretty much anything you might want to see or get to within an hour. Bad -No iron in the room. -No screens on the windows (this was not an issue during our stay but bugs/flies can easily get in). -Small room (bare bones) - just enough room for two (room 108). -No air conditioning (we went in Oct - this was not an issue for us). They will bring a small fan for you if the room gets hot. -Mattress was very soft (my husband prefers a bit more firm). -Front staff at check-in were a bit rude when I mentioned the heat in the room (if you book through Expedia "it's not really their problem if ammeneties are not what was originally promised). Having said that .. the morning front staff were awesome and provided great tips/directions. Good -Clean and well lit with natural light (extra pillows and covers in room/ quick room clean even if you leave the room after 12pm). -Breakfast offered from 6am-10am (coffee, tea, juice, soy milk, bagels, toast, danishes (egg free!), fresh fruit, waffles, muffins..). Heavy on the carbs - minimal healthy options - but good enough considering it's free! -Free maps at the front desk of the immediate area and popular tourist spots. Also, a list of all eating spots in the area and what they offer (nice touch). -Free Wifi (no issues with connection during our stay) and a hotel PC downstairs for guests that need it (free). -Haight-Ashbury neighbourhood (all sorts of cafes, restaurants and shopping within bloc

Friendly hotel close to Golden Gate ParkPosted Oct 24, 2015
This hotel in the Cole Valley – Haight Street neighborhood was extremely convenient to public transportation, Golden Gate sights, a Whole Foods and other services. There are a few street people nearby ,but the hotel has good security and locks outside doors at 10 pm. The free breakfast and evening wine are served in a lovely antique dining room.

Achtung: Lage an stark befahrener StraßenkreuzungPosted Oct 21, 2015

A great find next to Goldengate ParkPosted Oct 18, 2015
Pros: The cleanliness of the room/bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Adequate spaciousness for my wife and me.
Location: It is adjacent to Goldengate Park, so it is walking distance to the deYoung, Legion of Honor and Science Museums. The park itself is lovely.
From the minute we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Our room was meticulously maintained. And though we didn't partake in the afternoon wine and cheese, the offer was appreciated. Breakfast options were quite good. We will definitely stay here again.

first San Francisco visitPosted Oct 16, 2015
While checking in the employee rarely looked at me. She looked at screen and asked me questions then gave me key. It wasn't extremely rude but not welcoming. The room was small bu very clean. My only complaint was the room was hot and the window barely let a breeze in because there was a building right by my window not allowing air in. It would have been nice to have a fan. My overall experience was nice. The breakfast was very nice and the employees helping with breakfast were nice. The room was clean and cute.

Older style character hotelPosted Oct 16, 2015
Pros: Small individual hotel, full of character and in a part of town that really gave a feel of what San Francisco is all about
Location: Close to Washington Square Park and lots of quirky individual shops. Plenty quality eating places within an easy stroll
Had a problem with the booking which with the help of front desk staff and expedia was sorted out. Having to initially split up from our travelling companions and move to another part of town for two of our four night stay was not ideal but could have been worse

Nice PlacePosted Oct 13, 2015
We stayed one night last weekend. Great location across from Golden Gate park and 1 block from restaurants, bars and Whole Foods on Haight. The staff is very helpful, and allowed early check in and upgraded us to a premium room. The hotel is decorated in a victorian style, and is actually a historic landmark. The room was clean, bed comfortable. The only negative is the street noise at night and early morning. Bring ear plugs and close the windows, because traffic and passers by start at 6 am. We will return, but only for short trips.

Good hotel, would recommend.Posted Oct 8, 2015
Old fashion US western style hotel with character. Yet has all the mod cons of today. Close to some good restaurants on Cole Street and also near to the Golden Gate Park etc... The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and informative. The room was clean spacious and comfortable (we were in a suite). Only gripe if any was the slow wifi at times when inside the room.

We could hear everything said in the next room, tPosted Oct 7, 2015
Pros: had a good breakfast and clean room
Cons: new mattress and friendlier front desk staff in a.m.
Location: very well located and handy
too noisy and the mattress was horribly uncomfortable (twin) was not worth the money I spent.
