Stay was good. But no one picks the call at reception, be it you’re staying there or you need to contact before your stay starts. Hot water in the bathroom is only available between 7Am to 10 Am which is not acceptable.

One of the best location on Tallital with lake view. Hotel had good parking facilities. Less traffic as compared to Mallital. Hotel is old construction, so expect everything aged & used. Wireless internet connection is patchy at certain places.

Just about decent.
Pros: Location nearer to Mall Road, Rooms through need bit of face uplift are spacious and give a heritage feeling. Cons: Housekeeping needs much improvement. Food is decent in taste but basic things like options in buffet which is quite limited, lack of sufficient cutleries are a concern in their area of hospitality.

Worst Hotel with Bad Experience
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for even a single day stay. I had a very bad experience staying here for 3 days. Worst staff management, worst location & very tiny room size. Not worth the money.

Poor location, Cabs/Taxis won't leave you till hotel premises even. Very slippery surface. Not worth even for 1500 bucks, Comparatively many other hotels are available in town at far cheaper rates.

The biggest challenge to book online is, you most of the time get only those rooms which the Hotel wants to allot you. They dont give the options to choose from different rooms. I could not contact them in advance as the number was not working, Hotels.com Customer care also tried reaching them but were unsuccessful. Our bed mattress was really bad, springs were all spoiled, we could not sleep properly for 2 nights, they gave us another room on the third/final night. The bed wasn't very comfortable there too. Food is average, service is good and it has beautiful views of the lake. I felt it was expensive as per our experience.

The stay was pleasant and courtesy extended by all staff was really warm and caring. Quality of food served, room service were all very pleasant and made my stay memorable.

Pros Good hotel, clean rooms, one initially provided 308 was quite bad, changed to C2 Decent facilities though not in sync with time Excellent staff Mini golf was enjoyable as was basketball and air hockey Excellent view of lake from my room C2 Food was very good, we had breakfast At one end of mall road, next to talital bus stand. Cons Too much noise off vehicles through out the day till late night and starts in early morning. Rooms are sort of ok, not in sync with time. At a steep height, need to ascent around 100 metres

worst hotel of Nainital
I have been a frequent traveller and this is the worst hotel ....i have ever stayed cockroaches RATS are your room partners.smelly and stained bedsheets.No dental and shaving kits are provided .hotel staff openly ask for tips.rowdy group of boys openly drinking .we had ordered the dinner,the quality was so bad that we went to the nearby restaurant as the hotel staff didn't listened to the quality complaint so we were fully charged for the stale food which we had returned. Now worst part was breakfast...you had to fight for your food as if they are giving it for free.There were hardly any tables in the restaurant as it is very small .Everyone was fighting with the staff for getting the breakfast ,We had to wait for half an hour before we got the shared table. there many hotels and with better location and facilities.i Strongly advice not to stay in this hotel and at this price you will get a far better hotel .

Nice stay...
I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a good clean, and a true value for the price. It is located Mall road and Nainital lake. This is an ideal location. The staff was friendly specially, Ms. Suman.

Nainital at Hotel Himalaya
Fantastic location and a view to die for, if you opt for a lake facing room! We love the sit out area outside our rooms and had a wonderful view of the entire lake area. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff courteous and helpful. Did not expect such high standards for the price we paid - truly a value for money property!

We had a great start from delhi... took one night stay in Rudrapur, in a average hotel, we reached to Nainital early morning, once we reached to the reception I found that hotel is not having any coordination with hotels.com later when we checked in found bed sheet stained, towels were very hard, no bottle of water is being provided, glasses had stains and a used flask kept on the table with less than half water filled.... hotel staff found stinking with alcohol smell. don't know what was that.......in the end we had asked for dental kit... which was not provided as hotel is not giving having these products in house. very bad experience we had on this tour.....

BAD EXPERIENCE
We stayed in Hotel Himayala on 29th and 30th June'2014. As soon as we reach there the rooms were dirty with disgusting bedsheet used by other guests, watch rooms not at all cleaned with dirty towels. After constant 2-3 times call they changed bed sheets with new one but nt all ! Food was very disappointing with expired juice packs in the buffet . Our all over experience was very bad in terms of every aspect.

My parents stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in May and the overall feedback was positive. However, the hotel is higher than the road level so for aged people it is quite a climb on a slope.. which is a negative. The Heritage Suite with AC does not have AC as advertised which is a clear misrepresentation of facts and even in Nainital, afternoons do get hot. Food was quite nice and ample. fixed menu for MAP bookings but suffices.. overall a good place

If you are spending most of time roaming in nanital, then you wouldnot mind staying here > Breakfast buffet was good. > Parking is rather a pain... not for inexperienced drivers as its on steep slope. Your car might not climb with all people + baggage stuffed inside. >Room furnishing is average....washroom is also average >No DTH connection...old coaxial cable laid into rooms....might not be best quality to view your favourite shows. > view of lake is good ... only from lake facing rooms > close to mall road >not difficult to locate...near bus stop

Wonderful. They gave me a room viewing the lake. It was very, vety flean. The tables were spotless. The bathroom was very clean. The windows facing the lively view were clear. All my food was courtesy (i found out by surprise at checkout) and they would call to remind me to order room service for dinner before the kitchen closed. Courtesy breakfast was whatever i wanted and not just the various breakfast specials. Service was prompt. Very friendly. I will stay there again. Loved it. Also, the view is very romantic. Would be nice for a couple.

Hotel is located at the main mall road but not at the middle of the market place. it is located just near the main bus stand . to visit the market one have to walk for 15-20 minutes. hotel is good furnished. one should book lake view rooms. Rooms 301-303-304 are having good view of the lakh. Don't prefer for rooms 305-309 as to reach the rooms one have to climb many stairs and the location of the room are at the terrace top. hotel is having buffet arrangement of breakfast and dinner also..i have done buffer breakfast which is of good quality and sufficient for one person. to reach the hotel one have to climb two stiff steps from the mall road. for old people or sick person it may be a problem to climb the stiff path. My overall stay at the hotel was comfortable and enjoyable.. I stayed at hotel for 2 nights.. Credit card facility is available but often lines are not working. Hospitality and staffs are co-operative and good.

Excellent location and View
Hotel Himalaya offers excellent view of the lake and at the same time you can easily avoid the hustle of being on that Mall road. It is very close to the mall road. I would recommend the hotel to every one :)
