For us purposefully out of the way and very sweet.

Pros: Sweet spot in the middle of nowhere with a good host and yeast waffles breakfast.
Cons: Windows should open. They lock the front door at 6 p.m. and Expedia doesn't tell you that. (Access is granted with a bit of phoning.)
Location: You got to want to be there. . . .
Tim was great, nearby burgers were too. Cute western motif in most Eastern Oregon.

Quiet lodge in Hells Canyon Recreation Area

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Close to Hells Canyon
Cons: AC fan very loud. Even at low fan speed.
Location: Visit Hells Canyon
Check in was quick. Had an intro to the facilities. Used the free laundry. That was good. Room was small. Bed was soft. I prefer something slightly firmer. Quiet town. Description of what was open and availability of foodstuffs was inaccurate. Personal exploration turned up several places with what we were looking for.

Eclectic, enjoyable, B&B

Posted Aug 30, 2013
Location: The jet boat trip on the Snake River in Hell's Canyon was excellent.
Nicely decorated room, over-sized bath towels, friendly and helpful inn keeper, free run of the kitchen.

CHARMING AND COMFORTABLE

Posted May 7, 2013
Pros: Great towels, fabulous bed, fast hot water, CLEAN floors, comfy chairs for outside sunrise (not me), sunset (ME!) viewing and all the other views!
Cons: I'm happy..........
Location: Came to do the Hell's Canyon Jetboat...............INCREDIBLE 6 hours!!! Found the drive as a PASSENGER wonderful to see all the canyons and rivers!!
3 Houses converted into charming and warm accommodations. Good bathrooms with high quality complimentary toiletries, comfy beds, a great breakfast.....my first B&B and it changed my previous conception of a house/bedrooms with a common area. This group lodging provides lovely porch or deck 'red-necking' and a great way to mingle with other guests. Horses just across the street and doves to wake you in the morning. What more talks of spring?? Limited choices for dinner., a small town, afterall, ..but Halfway has all the essentials: food, drink, lodging, gas nearby, .......and welcoming residents! Fabulous stop to prep for a Hells Canyon Adventure Tour ...........can't get this far without running the river!

Halfway to heaven, no all the way!

The Pine Valley Lodge was a little haven after a long day on the road. From the moment we stepped across the threshold and were greeted by Susan, we could not have been made more welcome. Our room was comfortable and well appointed ( although I would probably put some black out blinds on the windows to keep the sunlight out to avoid early wake up!). Breakfast was amazing and Susan was very hospitable and a terrific host!
