Good basic hotel in a great location.

Nice room, very comfortable beds. Only complaint was the food in the restaurant. Unimaginative, blah, not good value for the money.

Fantastic spot in downtown Halifax!

TV wouldn't work. Hotel staff seemed overworked and non accommodating. Rude and disinterested service from the front desk and a very sarcastic hostess in the restaurant. The overall culture of the staff is not pleasant. The room was great.

Great Location! Downtown Halifax

Hotel is great! Parking is extra which is the only fallback in my opinion.

Nice hotel but noisy with a dog on the same floor

Cons: Let your guest know that you allow pets in the hotel and ask to make sure not to be on the same floor if they're not comfortable with that.
Location: The location is not that bad, it is not like on the waterfront, were you can walk to different restaurant bars, pub or casino.
The room was fine, the restaurant was fine , the pool was fine but the hot tub's water was not too clean. the sauna was ok even though two ladies lying on the bench made it seem as if we were not disturbing them. But the worst was being woken up on Sunday morning by a barking dog....you pay money to go to a hotel to relax and sleep in late only to be woken up by the barking, we were not too happy. After asking about it at front desk, we were told that they would have ask the guest to leave the hotel, a little too late after ruining our Sunday morning and they would have left anyway because they came back to their room at 11:00 and the barking stoped. It was time to check out anyway.... why give a room with a pet on the same floor as guest that don't know about the pets on the same floor? Giving to one room guest their comfort but ruining it for the rest of the other room guests on that floor......

Great except for parking .

Pros: Pool and breakfast .
Location: Great restaurants, museum within walking distance.
We stayed two nights and the second night had to find alternate parking as the underground parking was full at 10 pm. HOWEVER , we were compensated with a free breakfast the next morning. Food was great! Pool was nice and warm. Beds comfy. Overall good place to stay.

Much improved

Hotel seems updated since I last stayed there about 18 months ago. I stayed in a platinum level room and it was very good- bathroom was the only part of the room that still could be upgraded. Excellent WiFi. Buffet breakfast was pretty good but as a lactose intolerant person- the options were more limited. Despite having lots of families, the hotel did not feel as though I was at a kid’s camp. I was in town visiting my Mom who is not well so I appreciated the calm both inside and outside my room.

Convenient location

Pros: It's convenient location.
Cons: Room cleanliness. And if you stay 2 nights why does everything not get replenished ie coffee, cream, sugar and stir sticks.
Location: Within walking distance of parks and downtown
The rooms are sub par and rather dirty. They don't turn the heat on before you get there so your room is freezing and takes awhile to warm up. On the plus side, I ordered room service and the food was great. The staff member who brought the food up was very kind.

Overall excellent hotel, clean, quiet, close to everything. Compares well to high end hotels(ie: Westin, Hilton, Marriott). You will not be disappointed.

Central with great rates

I've stayed in this hotel scores of times. Stayed often as a kid when it was Holiday Inn. Great location. Comfortable rooms. Reasonable rates.
