The tv in our room wouldn’t connect to the wifi therefore we couldn’t watch any movies or anything. I called a couple times about the tv and wasn’t offered any resolution really just said they would fix it tomorrow, however we were only there for the 1 night. The air conditioning didn’t really work, and the vending machine outside our room ate our money up for a drink. Also the parking garage is absolutely TERRIBLE, the smallest garage ever, we just parked across the street in the big parking lot on the waterfront, way better, no ticket. I wasn’t very happy with the fact that they weren’t willing to even switch us to a different room or maybe offer a discount? Probably would skip on this hotel for next time.

The elevators were not working properly - they were very noisy and we heard it from inside our room and it went all night long. No one came to clean our room, or give us fresh towels. We inquired and they said we had to request cleaning. However no one advised us that this was required. I would not stay here, the price was high and the quality was terrible.

We originally booked a king with a sofe bed option and showed up at the check-in time of 4 o'clock and did the "soft check-in" as insteucted to by the email at 8am. We were told that this was not available and we would be getting and accessible adjoining room with no sofa and turns out minimal view of the waterfront. Not fully understanding what this meant, we agreed. The room did have accessbility options but also had an unlocked door to the room next door that a child kept trying to explore once locked. The walls are so thin you can hear every movement of your neighbor. Because so closely located near an ancient elevator, we got to hear the doors opening closing throughout the night. This was supposed to be a relaxing stay-cation prior to my husband's deployment, and I feel we would have been better off staying at home

Found cost of room expensive for out of season rate. Waterfront for the most part was closed. Hotel unable to accommodate our truck so we had to stay out on the street or find parking lots to park in. This was inconvenient.

Our heater in our room did not work… 4 hours into our stay we had to switch rooms… The shower was terrible The whirlpool doesn’t have good jets. Can barely feel them. The only real good thing was the water views from the big windows in our room

March 2024. Amazing staff checking in and when my key needed rebooting. However.. the audit I assume was passed out waited calling repeatedly the hotel phone not a soul to be found or heard finally i yelled and he awoke … Room corner third floor balcony king room pretty amazing clean for sure couple stuff and things stuck to the floor.. might need new vacuums possibly but corner of hollis and salter, room with balcony not the greatest view.. but winter by the water .. little windy..so I was happy, as I am a smoker. The pigeons kinda are little too friendly.. andhotel is under renovations so I expected there to be something but didn’t see anything until the night audit asked me to go to the fifth floor for ice which they did not have and it was really creepy to go through at 4am went back downstairs to lobby and still cannot find audit and eventually tells me now there’s no ice … Also asked for bowl and spoon and was giving dirty spoon. I worked audit at holiday inn express .. I was extremely not impressed. As audit you don’t get many people so I always made a point to be extra and beyond for the guests, that I did get to see.

My family and I have stayed at this hotel a few times now, we keep coming back because it is dependable. This time around I found the staff was extra friendly and I loved it. It makes me want to book there again. They were just extremely friendly and helpful we had some really loud people staying in the room beside us and they left in the mid evening and we worried they would wake our kids up when they came back but we didn’t hear a peep from them when they got back in because the hotel staff keeps up on that stuff. I was really impressed with this stay thank you we will be back!

Overall a great experience. Pool, fitness room, and hotel bar were all nice features. Restaurants were 10ft frim the front door. Elevator was noisy and felt sketchy.

I loved the pool and whirlpool spa (hot tub). The service was very friendly and helpful. I was disappointed that there was no free morning coffee. The cafe is quite expensive.

Located in the heart of the city. Great value and some rooms facing the ocean. Shuck has a nice happy hour deals in drinks and oysters and lots of great dining options nearby. Awesome spot to explore the Halifax Harbour front
