Lovely hotel with character

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Lovely, quaint hotel with a lot of character and history behind it. Quiet neighborhood near the water, and a very walkable distance to all the downtown attractions. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and made our stay warm and comfortable. One note to keep in mind: if you have accessibility limitations, be sure to request a ground-level room as there are no elevators and a lot of stairs (part of the antiquity and charm!).

Nice boutique hotel in excellent location

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: Location and homey rooms.
Cons: Our room was a bit small and did not have a fridge.
Location: Right downtown making everthing very walkable.
3day stay to explore Halifax. Small but comfortable room was perfect base for exploring downtown. Friendly staff and nice breakfast included in room rate.

two rainy days in halifax

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: good location close to the waterfront
Cons: the rooms were cold and they had a central control on the temp...we had to run a space heter the whole time we were there...
Location: lots to do in Halifax...great restaurants all within an easy walk...
we spent two days in Halifax....the hotel was close to the waterfront...but..parking was not easy...we were planning to walk around the area...but..the rain made that challenging....the breakfasts were great but we wanted to eat in the hotel dining room but it was booked one night and closed the other night

Nice place, great location, wonderful courtyard.

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Good location, not too far from airport. Able to walk everywhere we wanted to go (Halifax was just our first day stopover before touring N.S.)
Stayed here to be central to downtown and have ability to walk to waterfront, restaurants, the Citadel, etc. We were happy with the place as it met our needs.

Great location!

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: Location is great
Cons: Rooms are quite full of furniture. It would be nice if there was room to put luggage (perhaps a low bench instead of a chair?)
Location: Close to all sorts of restaurants, the waterfront and all of the main tourist attractions.
Great location for walking around the downtown core of Halifax! Safe, clean rooms. Restaurant onsite.

Lots of character and free parking in back

Posted Jul 1, 2015
Just stayed one night. Great location with lots of charm. Room was on third floor with a low sloped ceiling. Air conditioning was weak. Drain in sink was very slow and needed to be snaked. Staff was great, place is clean. Continental breakfast good but not great.

A lovely gem!

Posted Jun 28, 2015
My new husband and I stayed this past week at Halliburton House and absolutely loved it! Our room was located in the third townhouse called Lithgow and rather then feeling like a hotel room, it felt more like a mini-apartment. Our second floor room was lovely, clean and overlooking the gorgeous courtyard. Our bed was extreamly comfortable and the room was decorated very well. Housekeeping was prompt everyday and left the room looking amazing. The staff was friendly and more then willing to chat about local attractions. Lastly the complementary continental breakfest was great, offered a good selection. We plan to stay here again and would highly recommended to anyone looking for a place to stay in Halifax.

beautiful spot-walking distance to wharf and Dal U

Posted Jun 13, 2015
Pros: WIFI included - breakfast included , multiple outside seating areas - close to everything in downtown Halifax.
Cons: Although we probably had too many devices..our room had limited plugs available to recharge devices..but we made it work for sure.
I went to Halifax to attend a conference - My husband and I always prefer to stay in a small or boutique hotel - rates are comparable and the service is much better and more intimate. Halliburton has a wonderful restaurant in the hotel for breakfast which is included and although called continental - it included fresh bread, preserves, ham ....etc. This hotel is a great location to walk to all attractions including the wharf, Pier 1, Dalhousie U, and downtown....we walked everywhere. The staff were wonderful...

Nice cosy hotel in downtown Halifax

Pleasant and very helpful staff, convenient room, charming restaurant with private setting and great food, and very convenient location in the middle of a historic Halifax centre. Great place to stay for those who prefer comfortable, cosy, quiet location.
