Make sure you get the main building room. We stayed for 2 nights and was assigned to the rooms that is 300m building away. The lake view is different than the original room. The room keys didn’t work for first day and second day.. front desk asked me to walk back to the main building to fix it.

The stay is very pleasant in this hearty hotel. It is located conveniently next to the ferry pier. My room is spacious and on the top floor with a balcony facing the lake. The view is just unbeatable. The amenities provided in the room are in high quality. A nice breakfast is included.

2nd stay at Heritage - previously in junior suite, this time in lake view deluxe. Great views from main house Kainz. Room was comfortable with free water and coffee machine and fridge. They have renovated downstairs reception and restaurant, not much more space but feels more modern. The food at dinner and service were excellent and value for money. The breakfast was good but lacked variety. The only negatives relate to poor housekeeping not replacing items and a waitress in the restaurant with her hair up and big earrings who was so rude and difficult with guests - telling off everyone. The other waiters were helpful and polite. People are paying her wages who stay here and she should show some more respect in customer service matters - maybe retrain her or put here back of house please. Property has nice sauna in top floor. Overall enjoyable stay. Thanks.

Stunning views from our balcony , right on the lake. Room very comfortable , quiet , clean and close proximity to shopping and restaurants and yet remote enough for peace and quiet . Hallstatt is highly recommended.

1. Hotel staff was nice to give room 1 hr earlier & provide someone to help with luggage to room which was in a different building. 2. View from room was great including that from balcony 3. Decent breakfast. 1. Wifi kept disconnecting 2. Hotel room was comfy but had a few loose fittings

They put us in a room not as described in the Hotels.com listing: - room was in different location from hotel building (5 minutes walk) - room was on 3rd floor and without elevator - no hot water (for shower) at nite - hotel reception offered no solution when we complained

Super Great hotel and place!!
I can not say enough wonderful things about the Heritage hotel!! I am doing a 28 days trip in 3 countries and 6 places so far and nothing compares to this Heritage hotel, wonderful location, woderful place, wonderful people giving 100% great service..... in the room you will enjoy many complimentary things like a Nespresso, free water, skin conditioner and shampoos etc.... Wonderful hotel in a wonderful place!!!!!! Well worth it!!

Beautiful setting. Our room was not in the main building, but in one of the other properties. It was comfortable, quiet, peaceful, with an amazing view of the lake. We enjoyed everything about the hotel, including the restaurant. The breakfast brunch was generous and fairly varied, and dinner was excellent.

The best view in Hallstatt!
Beautiful hotel, beautiful view, beautiful sauna. All the best amenities and an amazing breakfast, which was included. I would definitely recommend and would definitely say again.

A bit disappointed in this hotel. Friendly check in and they had our room ready even though we got in early. But our room was disappointing. We were in the main building on the ground floor…an accessible room which was fine but meant a zero entry shower that had no door so chilly and leaked all over. Plus the tap seemed to be broken so couldn’t get much hotter. The bathroom in particular smelled of cigarette smoke although it said it was a non smoking room. There was an ashtray full of butts on our outdoor deck. The whole room seemed run down. Clean enough and comfortable so it was fine but it was our highest priced hotel of our entire 16 day trip. It was twice the cost of our very nice Salzburg room which I get…supply and demand…but I would expect it to be in good condition.

I had a room on first floor, facing the lake with obstructed "lake view" (which is a bummer, my reservation showed - lake view), instead of balcony it has terrace. No air conditioner in the room. When I arrived, the room was so hot. I asked front desk to move me to 2nd floor, so I could open the window and feel safe (saw a lot of signage "Be aware of pick pocketing" around town), which was declined because "no more room", but when I checked the website site, it still showed bookable for same check-in and check-out. Luckily, it was raining that night, I opened the window and took a chance, so it was cooler in the room.

Perfect location right on the lake. Very clean room and wonderful staff. Very safe for solo traveler. You can relax with a cup of coffee on the balcony and forget about everything else.

The Heritage Hotel in Hallstatt has the best views in the village. It also has the best location in the village. The room was great and the views, out of this world. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful, friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

This hotel is a little bit old and needs some renovation. It's location is good, just sits next to the ferry. If you drive to the village, they also provide shuttle to the parking lots that are at the entrance of the village. The church next to the hotel will ring the bell at 6am every morning to remind the guests to wake up and enjoy the morning view of the village.

Location of the main building is really nice. Just at the jetty. But they have 2 more buildings far far away. The people at the reception are very rude and non-cooperative. If you are booking here make sure to book at the main building, otherwise give it a pass. Food at the restaurant is nice though. Our breakfast was good and dinner was very fine as well.
