Central downtown location two blocks to train stat

Posted Nov 28, 2017
Pros: See above
Cons: Nothing
We booked in anticipation of visiting Hamburg's Christmas Markets but we were a day early before they opened. So, we spent our brief visit seeing the Minature Railroad in a warehouse near the waterfront and taking a tour through the Chocoversum learning about chocolate and sampling along the way. One's initial impression of the hotel is that the decor is retro 50's making it possibly a less than desireable place to stay. BUT, after staying the night and visualizing the size of the room, the parquet floors, the floor to ceiling curtains, the very confortable bed, the delightful rain shower with plenty of HOT water, the in room Espresso machine, and the hotel amenities available to guests, i.e. Spa with Steam Room, Sauna, foot soaking tubs, showers for quick cool down and a pleasant sitting area AND a small gym, bar and nice breakfast, one need not stay across the street to stay at the Park Hyatt. What a great hotel,

Stylish hotel in mid town

Posted Nov 10, 2017
Pros: Stylish rooms
Cons: The mini bar 'concept' . Brilliantly explained to us ! How pretentious can you get - but we were on holiday, so it added to the trip.
Location: museums, restaurants
We liked the hotel very much. The full breakfast, at 16 euros is very expensive. We had the continental at 5 euros. Slightly odd minibar organisation : there isn't one, you get your stuff form the fridge in reception - 'a concept' as the chap explained to us - or just around the corner at a place called 'a shop' !! Nice place though

Good hotel in downtown area

Posted Oct 21, 2017
Pros: Great location, small, botique hotel, nicely decorated, clean, average sized room (probably large in European standards)..
Cons: Breakfast included
Location: Centrally located.
Nice small hotel decorated tastefully in 50’s style. Homey lounge/living room on main floor with self serve drinks/snacks. Breakfast available at hotel but we thought it was too pricey so didn’t eat there.

Great retro hotel, rooms were really well done and had everything you need for a city break. Hotel staff were excellent & very friendly and offered great advice on places to visit and eat & drink. Thoroughly recommend having a drink in the hotel bar, the drinks are perfect.
