Neighborhood too noisy

Posted Dec 5, 2016
The heat wasn't powerful enough and felt cold in the night.

The hotel look like a ghetto and I would not recommend it to anyone. The hotel loops more like a motel and reception is closed early and front door of hotel locked.

Hotel in city centre. Near station.

Posted Aug 20, 2016
Pros: The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Location: It was close to the station and main shopping street. The street was inundated with beggars, prostitutes and neverdowells.
Hotel in a street patrolled by prostitutes even in the morning.

Budget hotel but reasonable for what we paid

Posted Oct 31, 2015
Pros: Very convenient location, it was clean and the breakfast was reasonable.
Cons: The decor was tired and could do with freshening up.
Location: The hotel was convenient for all the city centre attractions.
This hotel is within easy walking distance from the main railway station with another U-bahn station fairly close by. Hamburg city center was just the other side of the main railway station. There are various restaurants close by although the ones closest to the hotel are kebab houses and you have to go a little further (opposite the main railway station for typical german food. When walking from the hotel to the main railway station you pass a number of sex shops but this is not a red light district. The hotel was clean but the decor was tired and a little more attention to detail was needed. However, the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast reasonable. We had a hire car for part of our stay and the hotel car park was in a private underground multistorey just round the corner where the hotel had been allocated about 5 spaces. We were given a key to the garage door and the car was therefore safe.

Needs a refresh

Posted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: Breakfast was okay and hotel manager was very helpful.
Cons: Rooms need updating.
Location: Close to Central station and shops within walking distance.
Location near to central station, so good, but the area the hotel was situated in wasn't what we had expected. Lift to rooms was located on first floor so you had to carry your luggage up a steep set of stairs, so wouldn't be suitable for elderly travellers. Rooms are small and in need of updating. Probably would be okay for backpackers if rooms were cheaper.

A Hotel Close to the Central Facilities

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Cons: The breakfast service can be developed.
The hotel located near the main train station. You can easily walk to the Alster Lake Area from the hotel. The hotel services are basically ok. If you especially search for an inexpensive and safe hotel, the Hotel Mercedes will meet your requirements.

St Georg area. Not far from main railway and other transport plenty bars and restaurants too. Was a lot of dodgy types going about after dark though.
