Very dirty and out dated hotel. Not with the price. Breakfast was horrible. I will never stay there again and definitely not recommend to any friends

The rooms were clean sheets were of good quality. Bathroom basic but clean. The owner was very nice and friendly.

The Hotel was quite comfortable and central to visit the historical town of Soest. There wasn't much interaction with the staff though.

For a mid-week overnight acceptable
Admittedly we stayed on a Sat. night (arriving quite late and booked en-route), but over-priced regardless. General condition poor (cats on seating area, carpets in common areas stained and littered, beds very uncomfortable), and general condition of premises need a revamp. However the staff were customer orientated, breakfast was excellent, as was the available WiFI.

Hotel has been updated from the last time we stayed 2 years ago staff even remembered us rooms were clean staff very courteous and very helpful we will return in 2 years time

Back after 50 years
It was very hot & no air-conditioning available. Windows open except that our window was shaped so unable to open with the drop-down effect. Easy to walk into town & see everything. Walking on the wall also great. Parking lot was beside the hotel. Beds were soft. Bathroom accessible with hot water shower. Breakfast was very good .. buffet. Elevator available. Front desk personnel were willing to give assistance & offer suggestions plus a city map was available.

No tea or coffee making facilities available in the rooms & limited choice of food in the evening. We did go out to eat but it was pouring with rain & would have eaten in the hotel if a better option.

Good llcation.
Convenient location with spacious room. Under repair. Room faced traffic and noisy. No air conditioner or fan so window had to be open.Excellant parking. Easy walk into town.

Great location, just on the edge of town, plenty of parking, friendly helpful staff. Entrance was having a refit so will be better when finished, overall would recommend.

Ideal location to see the old town
Peaceful nights, cheerful and helpful staff; it couldn't have been nicer. Everything is in walking distance including bus and rail stations. Can't praise it enough, and I really enjoyed my Sunday evening meal; it took me a while to realize that there was an evening menue for every day, my fault - it was quite obvious!

Well-situated hotel for one-night stay.
Hotel Am Wall is only 8/10 minutes from the east-west motorway and quite easy to find. Parking is free. The room and its facilities were good. Just 8/10 minutes walk into the town of Soest and its lovely atmosphere. There is a useful choice of eating places in town, too. In the morning, we had an excellent breakfast - hot food and buffet-style food both available. This was our second visit to the Hotel Am Wall. I expect to use it again next year as part of our annual trip to the far eastern part of Germany!

A small hotel in a nice area. All the staff we met were very friendly. The bathroom could do with better cleaning (toilet was found used when we arrived and some smell of mould near the basin) but overall clean and not bad. Outdoors trampolin was a very nice unexpected plus for our kids!

This hotel was at best ok. There was not a lot to choose from in the area for hotels when I looked online. The walled town centre is right across the street, which is great for walking to pubs and restaurants. The area overall is very nice. Very small room, with an updated bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was also ok.

The hotel is placed really well for town visitors.
The hotel advertises itself accurately for what services it gives. It is a mid priced, clean, conveniently situated hotel just outside the walled city itself. The meals and service provided are adequate and can be added to when booking in.

Interesting place near the walled city, hotel was undergoing refurb but no issues, wifi works ok and generally an ok place to stay, some initial confusion over payment which had already been made but ok, Good breakfast.

very nice hotel. At check in a large seniors group had them quite busy, and the kitchen was unavailable. Desk staff were great, got us complimentary dessert & coffee and recommended a restaurant close by.

Convenient to Old Town
We visited Soest to explore family roots and were delighted to find a wonderful mix of historic sites and information in this town that had a key position in Germany's history. The tours and music in the historic churches were marvelous; we enjoyed fabulous German meals and beer in the ambience of the old restaurants and pubs; museums gave us great insight into the Hanseatic heritage of the town; the Wilhelm Morgner art museum gave us an opportunity to see the art work that holds a pivotal place in the inception of impressionistic - expressionist art.

Easy to find and to park at. Just beside the town wall and easy to explore Soest on foot from the hotel. Lacks charm but the facilities are clean and tidy with very comfortable beds and good value for money.

Ich habe den Weihnachtsmarkt besucht und das Hotel ist Ideal dafür gewesen. Man ist in knapp 8 min zu Fuß in der Stadt . Soest ist sehr schön mit seinen kleinen Gassen und gemütlich eingerichteten Geschäften. Nächstes Jahr bin ich wieder hier einfach Top. Hotelpersonal wirklich nett und freundlich.

Sauberes Hotel, hilfreiche und nette Mitarbeiter. Unser Doppelzimmer war sehr einfach gehalten aber sauber. Wir haben lediglich eine Schlafstätte in guter Lage zur Altstadt gesucht und gefunden. Insgesamt absolut zufriedenstellend.
