Days Inn - Hammond, LAPosted May 18, 2015
Pros: Great staff, room well set-up and clean.
Cons: Proper lighting on access road, new clock radio in room
Location: don't know
Motel was set off the road behind another business which was not expected. The access to the motel was an access road between a row of 18 wheelers and the business in front of it which was well-marked but when expecting to be able to locate the motel by signage I had to make 2 attempts to locate the correct access road which had very little lighting at 8pm/after dark and made it a bit scary for travelling alone when expecting Days Inn to be a well trusted location, especially when backed up next to a truck stop. The motel staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though I had a non-refundable, non-changeable room the staff happily made changes for me. The room was clean, large and comfortable. I had a smoking room which was pleasingly not heavily smoky smelling and at a reasonably comfortable temp when I arrived. The ice machine was located at the center of the floor so it was reasonably accessible to all the rooms, I put the ice bucket in the mini-fridge beside the freezer section and it held the ice frozen until I checked out the next morning. Room included coffee in-room, hair dryer, mini-fridge (not-stocked), free wi-fi, room service, desk & chair, loveseat-coffee table-side chair and complimentary continental breakfast (didn't go). The alarm clock didn't work.

Not worth the pricePosted Apr 1, 2015 on Hotels
There weren't many upscale hotel options in Hammond but this hotel wasn't worth $87.88 a night. There was a large stain (maybe urin) on the comforter, the shower made a horrible sound when using the hot water and there was a hole in the bathtub that had been patched up with putty.
