No the best of Holiday Inn but closer to where I was working. The holiday is located near a derelict site which does not make it appealing. I asked for a shower cap and was told not supplied. I did not sleep well as the bedding made me itch throughout the night.

Shouldn't Stay at this One

Pros: The staff.
Cons: Get Holiday Inn to do some renovations on this property.
Location: Location is terrible and there is absolutely nothing to do nearby.
This hotel is very far from the city of Southampton. The accommodations were old and outdated. You are a captive audience for food if you don't have any transportation. There are no eating establishments within walking distance of the hotel. The food at their restaurant was okay, but not what one would expect from a Holiday Inn. Taxis were available, but expensive, if you wanted to venture off the property and go into Southampton proper.

Dear Happy Hal, Thank you for staying with us and leaving positive review about the staff. I would like to apologise if you found our hotel not so modern. Please be advised that our Great room lobby has been renovated 6 months ago and it's one of the first hotel with semi generation 4 Great room look. We have invested over 80,000 GBP in our Great room makeover Sorry if you found the hotel location too far from the city. The hotel is 10-15 minutes drive from our hotel to the city. Please note there is new pub/restaurant opened next to our hotel (few minutes walk) so our guest has an option to eat not only in our hotel Thank you once again for staying with us. Kind regards, Jurgita Deputy General Manager

No Air Conditioning. Room was very hot!

Pros: The staff
Cons: Install air conditioning
The hotel was located in a construction area where one can see pile of sand and machineries. We did not know the rooms at the hotel had no air conditioning. Southhampton had 80 degree temperature and when we arrived at 8pm and checked in the room located on the 3rd top floor, it was like 100 degrees. We got a fan and opened the windows. We ordered fish and chip at the cafe and it tasted like cardboard. The breakfast next morning was ok. The best thing is the staff people. They were friendly. They helped us print out our boarding pass.

Very convenient situation

Pros: We felt the Hotel was friendly, welcoming and well run.The room was comfortable and clean with a good supply of tea, coffee etc and fresh towels.
Cons: Maybe the double bed could have been a little wider!
Location: Located just near to the Motorway,so a quick exit was easy.Good access to Southampton City centre. We went to see the Titanic Exhibition in the City .
We stayed for 3 nights on a visit to see our Daughter and Family who lived just 10 minutes drive away.,so it was a very convenient location for us. We found that the Hotel adequately met our requirements for everything,in fact perfect. Although situated in an area where a lot of building was going on around the Hotel,it did not affect us in any way. Once inside,we didn't hear any outside noise and was very peaceful at night.

Great place to stay ideal for the motorway

Pros: Every thing
Cons: Double glassed Windows so when you are in the rooms facing the motorway you won't here the noise of the heavy lorry's going by.
Location: Not far from the New Forest, or the ferry to go to the Isle of Wright,Southampton shopping centre
First room we had was overlooking the motorway but was noisy,so we ask to change rooms and there was no problem at all the staff where very helpful and polite, and the service and food was very good.

Dear Pauline, Thank you very much for staying with us and rating us maximum in each area (cleanliness, service and staff, location and hotel condition). We are very happy to read that you found our hotel to be in a great location with an easy access for the motorway and easy to reach many beautiful places (New Forest/Lyndhurst/Lymington/Ise of White by ferry/ Paultauns Park/ Beaulieu motor museum/ Cruise terminals). In regards to the noise on motorway side as trees has been recently cut around we are pleased to let you know that soon we will be getting triple glazed windows so our guests could have even better nights sleep Once again thank you very much for staying with us and we are looking forward to welcoming you back to our hotel. Pros: Not a lot but the room was clean
Cons: The Evening meal was very disappointing everywhere else we stayed the fish was fresh , here I thought it was frozen and the chips were terrible .
Out of all the Hotels that we stayed at in the UK this was the most disappointing , I felt one of the afternoon staff was more interested in the computer

Dear Pam, Many thanks for sharing your comments about your stay with us. Our goal is not only to meet guest expectation but to exceed expectation at all times. Our housekeeping team consistently set very high standard especially when it comes to bedroom cleanliness. There is no doubt that our team at Southampton take great pride in delivering the best service and hospitality to all our guests. However I would like to apologise that you didn’t get to experience on our dinner service. We constantly try our level best to improve the dinner presentation and the quality by looking in to different cooking methods. Our location, free parking, free Wi-Fi and included breakfast are definitely value for money Thank you once again for staying with us and we look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel. Kind regards, Jurgita Deputy General Manager

Great for business, B & B

Pros: Easy access
Cons: Upgrade the room heating.
Greeted with friendly staff on arrival, checked in quickly and located room on top floor. spacious room was cold to start but soon warmed up, comfortable bed, tv and tea coffee making in room. WC shower was roomy and water temperatures were just right. Check out was fast and easy with friendly staff, the complimentary breakfast was ok for what it was. All round this hotel suited my needs perfectly, on business so needed a comfortable bed in a clean room and no fuss. No fancy restaurants or bars, a straight forward hotel close to the motorway.
