Friendly staff, rooms need updating

Posted Sep 19, 2016
Staff friendly Room Ok but felt basic compared to price - rooms need updating - fascia around sink broken, lights not working. Smallest bottles of shower gel/ shampoo I have ever seen! Food in restaurant good but ambience a bit like sitting in an office.

Grand old mansion

Posted Sep 10, 2016
Pros: Location; grounds are beautiful like Downton Abbey.
Location: near to several nice historic areas. easy to reach by car or train.
Lovely tudor mansion with modern, less fancy, rooms. Good service in the functional dining room. Close to Isle of Wight and on a direct train line to London. Beautiful part of England!

Dirty and way overpriced !!!!

Posted Sep 9, 2016
Arrived at hotel to find dirty room . Supposed to be kingsize bed but it was just 2 singles pushed together . Swimming pool was. Freezing cold . The steak house had none of the drinks we wanted and the drinks they did have tasted old and were served in dirty glasses. Staff were completely unprofessional and clueless . For over £250 a night this place is a joke .

Could be sooo much better with a small effort

Posted Sep 1, 2016
This hotel is in a brilliant location, the main building and grounds are really impressive and overall the facilities are excellent. However some areas are a little tired and the service wasnt what it should have been for the money. Generally staff just didn't go that extra mile to make you feel wanted. It would really only take a little bit more effort to make this a must go to place. Whether or not this hotel is being run on a tight budget and staff are hard to find but at the height of the season this should have been a sure to return destination, but I would definitely think twice before returning.

Very nice resort hotel / Will stay again

Posted May 30, 2016 on Hotels
Very nice hotel nearby Lymington pier, a short walk from the station/ferry. Staff were very nice, food was excellent. Room was a little dog eared, but otherwise clean and comfortable. WiFi wasn't good as an app (The Cloud) is required before you can get online, but there is almost no phone signal here to install the app. For international travellers this will be a costly exercise! FIX - Install/Register the cloud app before you go!

I thought the hotel itself was good but the prices of food and drink were high.
