Hübsches Hotel in StrassenlagePosted Nov 13, 2015

Clean comfortable roomPosted Sep 6, 2015
The hotel served its purpose for us. We did not stay for breakfast as we had to leave early in the morning. The room was clean comfortable with ensuite bathroom.

Bathroom fans drive you madPosted Sep 6, 2015
Check in was quick and first impressions of the room favourable. However, it soon became obvious that there was a continuous intrusive fan hum. This was non-stop. Other bathroom fans could be heard coming on and off as well. We complained to reception when we went for an evening meal and found the reaction to rather condescending. After our meal we were told the room had been visited and the neighbours. We got back to the room and nothing had changed. On the basis we'd been assured that it was a neighbours fan and hence would be turned off we decided to wait. At 1:00 am it went off, only for another to come on within a few minutes. This continued through the night. Breakfast thankfully, was good but we won't be hurrying back.

Good value, nice atmospherePosted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: Easy parking and lovely rural location. Homely atmosphere, comfy bar/restaurant area - and good pub food, including a competitively priced carvery.
Cons: My bathroom (see above).
Location: Great rural location, surrounded by fields and forests. Good access to Alton, Winchester, Guildford and Portsmouth.
I would come back to this hotel. Its rooms are competitively priced and comfortable enough. However, I had issues with the bathroom in room 224 because it is miniscule, with very little room even to sit on the loo!. It was also a shame my shower head had been broken by a previous occupant and had been repaired by taping and tying up, because it was difficult to get a good shower. Also, the bathroom radiator was full on all the time, which was crazy in mid-August! Apart from the bathroom, everything else was fine and I enjoyed my stay. Would definitely come back . . . as long as I could vet the bathroom first!

An angel in East HampshirePosted Aug 18, 2015 on Hotels
Lovely quiet country resort in East Hampshire. Staff friendly, prices fair. Room too tiny, as was the burger in the restaurant, 4 oz. at most! Not much for an angel!

Comfortable, reasonably priced with good food. Breakfast is a little strange in that there are no checks as to whether guests take a "continental", or a higher priced "full english" breakfast. The hotel relies on guests being honest at the end of their stay!
