Room for improvement

Generally nice hotel with good customer service. Menu is limited and what choices there are were not all available. Had run in with a member of staff that was shouting during breakfast. When asked if she could be a little quieter got a very bad response. Would think twice about returning.

Beautiful setting

Pros: Setting
Cons: It is a very old Inn so I did not expect perfection, but the spider webs in and outside the windows were a turnoff.
Location: Country setting, minutes from the town of Burley and just 15 minutes from New Milton where there are lots of attractions. Also near Milford On Sea .
Our room was described as Comfy and it was that. It was spacious and the bath was updated and lovely. Our view out the window was of the woods and very private. Unfortunately, our room was directly over the bar. So forget getting any rest from 7:00 pm to 11:00. There was live music on Friday night and we could hardly hear our TV. The bed was great! The staff was professional and pleasant. I would recommend this Inn but suggest a room not over the pub.

Great if You Like Incompetence

After booking the hotel in February as it was a "pet friendly hotel" we were disgusted to be turned away on the day as we had a small dog. When I say "turned away", it was literally that. A "sorry, you can't stay here, and you can't have a refund". I have never experienced such incompetence, arrogance or complete lack of empathy. The guy claimed to be the manager and claimed to be the only person we could talk to. A solution was only reached when we forced him to give us a solution. Still he couldn't manage but his colleague suggested we transferred to their sister hotel, 30 minutes away. This was the only solution or we'd lose our £220 and have no where to stay.

A Hidden Gem Well Worth Finding

Pros: A unique touch was the real fresh milk supplied to the room daily rather than the UHT that you get in most hotels, nice touch that.
Cons: How do you improve on perfection?
Location: Nicely hidden out of the village. a short walk away is the pictuesque Burley village with its selection of shops and pubs etc.
Stayed at this Hotel for two nights. Staff were friendly, cheerful and very helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We Stayed in one of their 'Stylish' rooms and their is no better descriptive, small - perhaps - but not cramped and very comfortable. We loved the whole feel of the place which had clearly maintained its original character from its previous life. Very comfortable bar with a sumtuous selection of ales and ciders etc. Food and service in the resaurant is nothing short of excellent, nothing was too much trouble at any time. We will definately visit again and would recomend to any one visiting the area. In fact it is now one of only two hotels we have stayed at that we would go simply to for the Hotel. An absolutely delightful stay for my birthday, a big thanks to all at the White Buck and see you next time.

Many hotels disappoint because the management have not paid attention to all the little things. This hotel obviously had superb management and all the little touches added up to making it an outstanding hotel.

Little hidden gem!

The staff were always friendly and the hotel was nicely furbished with cool themed-rooms! A great boutique stay indeed not to mention that their in-house restaurant was excellent too!
