Good location if you have a car. Otherwise you'll be Ubering. We got the feeling that some of the staff genuinely hate the people who visit this hotel, unnecessarily cold and unwelcoming. The Montauk tax is strong here, with everything being over-priced, but being asked to pay spend $200 (in food and drinks) in order to get a lounging chair on a Saturday next to the pool, after already spending almost $900/night is just insulting. 5/10, would not come back.

The property is lovely but we were charged a resort fee which I had no idea about. This was for the facilities. Check in is at 4 and checkout at 11am so for what? Incredibly noisy. Could hear running in the halls, loud partying in next room in the middle of the night. Close to front desk so not sure how they could not hear multiple people in a tiny room screaming at 3 am.lastly, breakfast was not good. Server was not friendly and eggs under cooked which resulted in an unpleasant ride home.

Fantastic venue, which I will return to. Only two drawbacks: 1) the rooms are extremely small. 2) I guess they haven't gotten the message that we are trying to get away from "junk fees," since there is a surprise "resort fee" that is billed on arrival.

The staff was terrible during check-in. They told me I needed to pay additional $300 for my service animal which I shared ADA information on and would not budge when asked for a refund. The "manager" chased me in the car saying I would be fined by the governor when I was going to a different hotel. They are local kids working at the hotel that are not happy with the summer crowds and it was a horrific experience.

SOLE is great
Place is beautiful, staff was great. The room cleaning seemed a little rushed when I checked in (there was someone else's sock in the corner of the room). No fault to the cleaners - I'm sure the pressure to get the rooms cleaned on time for the next check in is tremendous. We would have liked it if the continental breakfast wasn't $16. Just sayin'.

It’s sad when the staff ruins the whole experience
The hotel staff is an absolute nightmare. Almost every guest had a contentious conversation with the front desk (which was effectively an IKEA nightstand by the way). I should also mention that we intended to have a vacation with another couple but the hotel canceled their reservation at the last minute so we were forced to go alone. Lastly, they are not capable of providing itemized receipts for items charged to the room so you might want to avoid doing so if you want to audit the charges.

Living from a suitcase
I was in a tiny room which was dominated by two beds. There was no dresser so we both needed to live out of our suitcase for 4 days. The bathroom also provided a narrow shelf above the toilet which was so narrow that everything fell into the toilet. The hotel was very cute and the staff was very pleasant but I could not wait to leave that little CELL!

It is a nice property with so much potential. However there are no creature comforts in room. No amenities offered by staff. And someone forgot to train them that they are in the hospitality industry. Hellos, how are you, is everything to your liking, goodbye and thank you—simple things. The only friendly faces in the whole place are the bartenders!

very nice property with lots of little sections in yard for small groups to gather. Very beachy atmosphere. The beds were very low to the ground, would have been more comfortable if higher. Rooms very nice though, small TV with poor cable connection. Property Managers should discourage people from "saving" loungers outside. I was asked to move by a woman who was "saving" 8 loungers that she was holding with beach towels. I apologized and moved elsewhere.

The staff was HORRIBLY rude. The staff was extremely rude and defensive every time we asked for something. We paid for a room that sleeps 4 people- 2 double beds. The room only had 2 bath towels when we checked in. We asked for a couple more and were yelled at right away saying they don't have enough and we need to make do with what we have in the room. There was also no phone, no clock or alarm in the room at all. We were given one key and they told us previous guests had lost the other keys so this was all we were getting. THey were very unorganized and seemed like we were an inconvenience to them! The hotel itself is nice, beds were comfortable and clean. The pool and amenities were definitely the reason for a pleasant stay - not the staff

Arrived to a party scene with music blasting. Told it would continue through the night. Obnoxious manager Thomas told me to speak to Expedia and if they waived commission then he would refund me. Room was $650. When Expedia called Thomas he said he wouldn’t refund me unless room was rebooked. He then sent me to disgusting sole hotel by beach. Bathroom was gross. Towels wet. Garbage in garbage pail. Mirror with blood stains. Not clean. Told to call owner who never returned calls. Worst hotel experience.

There was a death in the family and upon calling the hotel and asking for a refund or future credit....I was asked to email the GM. Sent the email. No response. You would hope that they would have at the very least responded. Nothing. Charged me in full with no response.

Great Memorial Day Weekend
One of the best places to stay in Montauk, front desk staff were really nice and accommodating. Perfect location, great to everything, and one of the only hotels with a good pool scene.

Beautiful grounds and rooms are nice. Except we had to call the front desk and request our room to be tidied 3x. They did not end up coming to tidy up our room until 5:00pm when we were in the room showering up for dinner. So we had no clean towels and garbage was all over the room. Other than that we had a nice time.
