Quiet and Peaceful Place

Posted Apr 13, 2017
We came in the middle of April unfortunately we couldn't use the heated pool because they don't open it until middle of May. Of course we couldn't get the beach, the water was still cold because of winter. The only thing you can actually use is the tennis court. They have a small lounge area with a treadmill, tv, couches and a vending machine. This are get close at 5 so make sure you use it before that... Food wise, make sure to bring food with you. The room we stayed had it's own small kitchen with microwave, stove, fridge, dishwasher and coffee machine. The also provide coffee but don't expect the best coffee in the world. There is only one place walking distance where you can get some food, but be prepared because is only sea food in case you have allergies. It's also pretty pricy but it's the only thing available. Location... The place is literally in the middle of no where... that could be a good or bad thing depending of what are you looking for. If you are planning to go to Montauk or get out of the hotel make sure you bring your own car or rent one because taxis are super expensive. A ride of 5 minutes from the Amaganset train station to the Hotel was $25 for a total of 7 miles. That was the cheapest taxi service we found. Uber or Lyft are not legal in this area so make sure you call the hotel to get a taxi wait for you if you are taking the train. Tip: this place only allows people over 25, make sure to call in advance before booking if you are bringing younger

Ocean view is spectacular

Posted Apr 2, 2017 on Hotels
My girlfriend and I got in late and left early so not much time spent. I reserved a two bedroom, it was clean, had comfortable beds and amenities. Best part of the room was waking up, looking out and seeing the ocean.

Beach front paradise

Right on the beach with spectacular views. Beautiful sunrises and a million stars visible at night. Rooms and views were exactly as described on the web site.

Pretty good spot

Posted Mar 15, 2017 on Hotels
Windward Shores was a good place to stay for a few days. The kitchen was clean and the place was well equipped with comforts for a cold weekend. The main downside was the bed - it was on wheels and rolled away from the wall every time we climbed in, which was annoying. And, in general, the bed wasn't very comfortable. The location is good - short drive to Montauk, Amagansett, and East Hampton. All in all a positive experience.

Location but little else...

Posted Feb 25, 2017 on Hotels
Just not good. Unit needs a lot of work. Dirty. Sand in every bed. Enough hot water for 1/2 a shower. The beach is beautiful. 5 minutes to Downtown East Hampton which is very cool. They really should bulldoze this place and start over.

As discussed with you on Feb 24, your experience here was not at all a typical one. We have many, many favorable reviews that are reflective of the usual superior facilities and services we strive to offer our guests. Again, I am so sorry your experience differed and hope that you call me directly the next time you are planning a trip to Amagansett and when I can personally guarantee your enjoyment of the accommodations and services we offer Sincerely, Laurie, Manager

Winter stay

Posted Jan 5, 2017
Pros: Very clean and plenty of dishes and cooking utensils.
Location: We had dinner at the 1770 House in nearby East Hampton and went into Montauk for lunch at the Point - plenty to do even in winter.
We stayed between Christmas and New Years so it was cold but the place is very nice. Would love to go back when the weather is warmer but it must be very popular because we can't get a reservation!

Comfort and cozy resort

Posted Nov 28, 2016 on Hotels
1. There was a leftover Starbucks cup in the trash can when we first checked in. 2. There was only one hair dryer attached to the wall within the unit. 3. The temperature on the refrigerator was not set when we checked in. 4. The bushes for the path can be shorter, it's tough to care for baby troller when bushes are sticking out. 5. There is no mention on the hotels.com confirmation that office hour is only until 5pm, even though it's easy to reach reception to work it out ourselves.

Thank you for your feedback. It is impossible for me to follow-up on specific problems here unless I know where they occurred. There is nothing I can do in that regard if the reviewer is anonymous. Please note that, in general and unless a special request is made, hotels only provide one hair in each unit. Again, thank you for your comments.
