Badly maintained and managed hotel

Posted Mar 12, 2017
This hotel used to be a Sheraton hotel but standards have dramatically fallen since. Room fittings and furniture are not maintained, towels are old and discoloured. There were mosquitoes at night during my stay. Hotel staff try their best to make one's stay comfortable but it is evident there's no good management in place. The Harvest Garden restaurant, however, serves really good buffet dinners.

Pros: The pool. Staff were friendly
Cons: They need to review breakfast price. The hotel looks a little shabby and tired around the edges - not quite what you'd expect given its prices.
The lifts were slow and only one appeared to work consistently. The shower door was broken and would not close. The kettle would only boil if you manually held the lead at a certain angle. Breakfast was exorbitant at US $25 That said the pool was lovely. Room service reasonably prompt. The lady who cleaned our room, efficient and friendly. Staff very polite and friendly.

Very good hotel

Pros: Everybody tried to make you comfortable, call the airport taxi service for forgotten articles, and great quesadillas.
Cons: 3 things: More outlets in the room. And with multiple plug-in choices. Steamclean the carpets, urgently. Breakfast very expensive, hey, but good.
Location: Walking distance - museum, library, and with a little effort all of buzzing downtown, where all shopkeepers make a the greatest effort.
Excellent service, wonderful, delicious quesadillas. Have lived in Mexico for 27 years. Terrific quesadillas, original. Pollo Loco and a bunch of Central American and Indian food of course, ditto for Chinese, and who could overlook pizza. Everything within walking disrance, some streets off to cars. Markets for tourist items which are sold even in Zanzibar, Nairobi, Uganda, etc., come from here but it takes effort to hunt them down. But once you do, there are hand-painted cloths, with my new favorite, pearl fowl. Saw the splendid avenues lined by aging Jacarandas, not in bloom but THERE.

African adventure

Well located close to the Falls in a garden and water setting with 3 swimming pools, a thatched bar area outside and plenty of sun loungers. Pleasant breakfast area with a good buffet selection and the ability to watch birds and some wild life perform in the grounds. Air conditioning worked a treat in the superior rooms we booked and we received complimentary drinks and the local sparkling wine which was a nice gesture.
