Good hotel let down by poor customer service

Posted Nov 24, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel is in a very interesting historic building and rooms are spacious and well-appointed. However, the lack of coffee and tea making facilities were unexpected and the lack of the advertised WiFi was a real disappointment and inconvenience. The bar was staffed by a lovely lady who was friendly and helpful. She even came out of her area to show us how a very old bench/table worked and had an obvious pride in and knowledge of her surroundings. Unfortunately the same was not true of the staff on reception. At check in there was no smile and minimal interaction, and later when asking questions about the town very terse responses were given with no elucidation or supplementary information. This could be a lovely hotel with better customer service.

Great location, lovely historic building

We loved our stay at Hotel Los Agustinos. The monastery, built in 1373, has been carefully restored, has lots of character, and is in a great location from which to explore Haro. The rooms are a little bit spartan in decor, but the beds were very comfortable.

Clean, beautiful hotel 2 blocks from city center. Great base to explore Rioja. Affordable and well maintained. Hotel restaurant a little bit expensive. No breakfast included.

Historical hotel near the old town of Haro and 15 min walk to Rioja wineries. Lots of bars and restaurants handy.

Almost a 5*

Great facilities and location. Parking is a nuisance (no valet) and limited food facilities (expensive). However, it is a short walk to the town square and overall a good choice.
