Disappointed

Posted Aug 9, 2016
The room was very dingy and dank smelling when we arrived on the ground level. Requested a room on another level but they were booked up. Planned on staying 2 nights but left after 1 as we couldn't face another night there. On the positive they serve a good, hot breakfast!

Great place to stay with your family.

Posted Aug 8, 2016
Pros: Hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The room we stayed in had a very small vanity it was awkward. The bathroom could use updating in this room. Not all rooms had a bathroom like this.
Location: We were very close to Hershey Park. Perfect for a family who is going to the park.

Close to Hershey

Posted Aug 3, 2016
Positives: close to Hershey and route 81, staff quickly responded to all questions and requests, suite was really nice especially compared to regular rooms, pool was not too deep for my 8 year old to feel confident and have fun Negatives: bring your own pillows (they were all horrible and lumpy in both rooms), breakfast food was acceptable (free) but not fantastic We would stay here again for sure.

Traveling to Hershey for a concert

Posted Jul 22, 2016
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: Harrisburg East, near to Hershey, PA and all that they offer
When purchasing tickets to attend the Paul McCartney concert in Herhey, PA, I checked to see if I could find a Country Inn & Suites nearby, as that by far is my favorite place to stay. My daughter-in-law and I stayed in one at State College, PA last year and absolutely loved it. The hotels are always clean, the staff courteous, and the beds so comfortable.

Close to Hershey Park

Posted Jul 22, 2016
Pros: I like the closeness to Hershey Park and the cookies put out each day.
Cons: Provide maid service and remind them check out time is at 11 am, and to knock first and not just barge into people's rooms.
Location: 7 miles from Hershey, didn't have to travel on any major highways to get to Hershey which was great. Saw Paul McCartney in concert.
Hotel was nice, but we did not receive maid service while we were there. We had left our room by 10 am and returned around midnight and found that our room was just as we left it. Beds unmade, trash in both cans and no clean towels or toilet paper. I had to go to the front desk and request towels and toilet paper, and told them we had received no maid service. They didn't seem surprised - made there is not daily maid service! Then the next day when we checked out, the maid barged through our room at 9:30 am, 90 minutes before check-out time. She quickly left seeing we were still in the room, my daughters were still sleeping. The dead bolt and other lock does not keep the maid out. I was ticked off and left no tip. I didn't tell the front desk since they were not concerned the night before. Hotel was nice overall and good location but the lack of maid service and barging in the next day made me rethink about staying there again.

Convenient location

Posted Jul 21, 2016
Pros: Staff was very friendly. Quiet location. Two nearby truck stops made choices for refueling convenient.
Cons: Air conditioner and sink need to be repaired or replaced.
Location: Antique Auto Club of America Museum and HersheyPark about 20 minutes away. Easy access to I-81.
Room clean. Staff very friendly. Hotel looked fairly new, but room showed signs of wear. Sink had cracks around drain and drained very slowly. Air Conditioner was very loud and had to be turned off in order to hear TV and alarm. Location was quiet and safe. Close to interstate, but attractions are a distance and nearby restaurant choices are limited.

Disappointing

Posted Jul 18, 2016
The carpet was dirty and long past needing to be replaced. The soap dish on the sink was dirty too. The lovely rocking chair area out front was the smoking section, so you basically had to walk thought the smoking section to get into the main lobby. The room was way overpriced .Overall- in desperate need of a remodel. Breakfast was so-so. This was not the first time we stayed in a Country Inn Suites but it will probably be the last.

Stay elsewhere at all costs!

Posted Jun 13, 2016
Where do I begin? Check in went rather smoothly. When we got to our room, we noticed it was quite dated (peeling paint, stains on walls, etc) and had a little bit of an odor. But this was just the start. The room was very dirty, the sheets & towels were both barren and worn through, the a/c would not cool effectively, and get this...the sink would not drain! I went downstairs and interrupted the front desk staff from watching the hockey game to let him know about our room and the sink. His first question to me was "Are you concerned because you think we'll charge you for the sink repair?" Um, no! We were assigned another room across the hall. It wasn't much better. In that room, the sink did drain, but the porcelain was all cracked and rusting through. The floor was so dirty that our socks turned black on the bottom from walking in the room. In the morning, there was absolutely no hot water! Breakfast is served at the hotel each morning. I recommend you stay away from the warm milk and kitchen-prepared foods, and instead, stick with the commercially wrapped pastries & fruit. At checkout, I explained all of this to the front desk staff. She told me the manager would be calling me to discuss my experience. It's been 5 days and I haven't been contacted. Spend your money elsewhere and stay far away from Country Inn & Suites Harrisburg NE!

We were unable to get a closer hotel to stay in the area of our main event. However, this hotel was very nice. Hotel staff (except for the night we checked in) was super friendly and very polite. The hotel was very clean and smelt clean. We didn't do the breakfast or anything but they gave us complimentary water in the mini fridge, and complimentary coffee and cookies in the main lobby. The only problem we had was the pillows, we stayed for 3 nights and ended up going to buy pillows after the first night. They only have soft pillows. We also found a letter from the General manager welcoming us to the hotel, which we never have seen before. Other then the pillow issue, we had a wonderful stay and even though it was not close to our event, this hotel was great. I would def stay here again.
