A good night's sleep

Very unfriendly check-in receptionist. Tried hard to get her to relax and smile. She said she would call our room in 10 minutes to find out if we needed any anemities. The phone call never happened. There was a blue wash cloth on the floor when we walked into our room. The bed was extremely comfortable! The grab and go breakfast was a nicely displayed variety with high end items. OUr check out receptionist was top-notch! The air conditioning/fan - I wish there was a way to have it work all thru the night.

Reconsider staying here

Pros: nothing
Cons: More than one employee on duty; having hot foods at the breakfast or at least milk, water bottles. Would NOT stay there again
Location: only reason we stayed there was it was close to U Conn.
Checked around midnight on a Friday evening. Took a few minutes to find someone to help us check in. It appeared the clerk was the only one at the hotel on duty. Person did not seem to understand English. She could not find our reservation. We had paid for a non-smoking King bed room. She told us that they didn't have any (even though it was listed in the site reservation). We told her that two doubles would be fine but it had to be non-smoking as I had asthma. Was assured it was non-smoking. After going back & forth trying to understand her (was it a language barrier or she was on medication?) we just smiled & hoped for the best. Got the key & went to the room. Upon entry, we were hit with the smell of smoke- everything in the room reeked of cigarette smoke. Being exhausted & having to get up early the next day, we decided to just go to bed as we knew it would be another 45 minute delay with trying to find the employee and switching room. Got up early the next morning and couldn't find a hair dryer in the room. Called down stairs 4 times to make sure they had one before I showered as I didn't want to wash my hair w/o being able to blow it dry. No one answered the phone. Wound up going back down stairs and searching for the employee and after 5 minutes found her (she was in the back behind the check in counter?) Don't know why she didn't answer. Went to shower & noticed shower curtain reeked of smoke and there were hairs in the tub. Wore socks in the shower

My stay was for 4 days and 3 nights but it took 2 days before the room felt comfortable (I had to keep adjusting the room temperature). Other than that, the room size was great and everything else was good as well.

Rooms with kitchens

Pros: Convenient to shopping malls
Cons: Cleanliness, and no one was at the front desk upon my arrival or departure.
Location: Malls, and restaurants
No ice machine! Kitchen had no dishes or silverware. Only 2 plastic glasses in the room.

The hotel staff was very nice and attentive. However, the hotel itself is definitely older so there is clear evidence of wear. It was clean, but this isn't a luxury stay. I knew I wouldn't be staying in the room for an extended period of time so for me it served the purpose.

No Security and Bad Attitudes

I arrived around midnight to check in and found the front door open and no one at the front desk. While I waited, knocked and yelled out for almost 10 minutes until someone came to check me in. I told her I was shocked at not just the lack of service but the lack of security. She said she had cameras but I told her they don't do any good if you aren't watching them. It would be very easy for someone to just walk into the hotel in the middle of the night since there was no security at the front desk. The lady got very snippy and said she didn't care. I would never go back to the hotel as I felt it was not secure and they didn't seem to care about security.

Nice room. Great parking. Close to everything. Overall it was a nice place to stay.
