My last time staying at this hotel, I come into the room and there was gummy bears under the bed, the bathroom towel holder was no longer on the wall and all the towels on the floor. The chlorine was so strong in the Pool my kids had red eyes. Then on top of all this I reported the towel holder, the maintenance man walks into the room at 8:45 am the next day while my children were in bed without knocking and proceeds to go into the bathroom to fix the towel holder. There is no communication with staff and maintenance I had to ask the maintenance guy to leave until we left. Needless to say things could’ve went left as I have small children! Very disappointed.

The property itself is fine enough, although it is situated by a fairly busy route. They could use some trash pickup time to cleanup some areas around the lawn but its not horrible. We had issues getting checked in as there was no manager and the desk staff were elsewhere in the hotel for 20 minutes. The kitchen and lobby were clean, however the elevator and our room were relatively dirty. The bed was OK but the bathroom floor and vents were dirty. The room was set to 80 when we arrived and we attempted to turn it to Cool and set it down to 60 but it continued to heat. A lot of stuff in the hotel requires some TLC, the elevator control panel was loose and our bathroom door lock was sticking which caused it to lock from the inside. There arent any USB ports in the room so youd want to bring a AC adapter. The mattress and couch were also old. There isnt /great/ soundproofing between floors, so if you stay I'd recommend staying on the 3rd floor because you can hear footsteps from below. All in all, if the management group that is operating this Holiday Inn Express invested in a deep clean crew to come in and spruce stuff up, as well as cleanup outside, and replace the mattresses and furniture and patch some of the walls from scuffs / settling cracks etc then it would probably be fine. Also, if this location is having staffing issues then in my opinion the franchising / operating group should be subsidizing them with aid.

Decent, good-sized rooms. I had to switch rooms in the middle of the night due to smoke alarm chirping every 5 minutes and front desk did not have any spare batteries.

Coming home. Returning to Wallingford.
I got in at 9:00 tonight, and check-in was a breeze! My room is way beyond awesome, I've not done any more than unpack, but I'm very impressed. I was born in Wallingford, so the reason I'm here is to rent a house and stay in the area, but I highly recommend this place to people visiting the Wallingford/Meriden area.

This was a disappointing stay, so much so that we checked out early and found a different place to stay even though the room was not refundable. The hotel manager offered to reimburse us half the cost for the second night since we were so unhappy.

As kind and gracious as a staff was, the accommodations in cells were literally falling apart. There was mold in the bathroom.

We stayed in a king bed room overnight. The room is spacious and clean. The TV had an issue at the beginning. We called front desk twice, an hour between, someone came to fix it. That’s great. The free breakfast provides hot scrambled eggs and sausages, yogurt, milk, muffins and fruits along with coffee and juices, enough choices for normal breakfast. The air conditioning/heating sounds very noisy at night. We turned it off because the day we stayed is neither too warm nor too cold. The room can add one more light at the sofa area.

When you walk in , you get greeted by a very sour smell, as well as in elevator. Room itself wasn’t terrible, but shower head very very dirty, bedsheets looked not clean. Not all lights worked in my room, tv was very dim. Employees were super amazing however! Overall, good stay, probably wouldn’t recommend it however.

Repeat customer at this hotel. Large rooms, convenient location, breakfast, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, fitness room. Unfortunately my room this stay had a terrible odor to it, I had to Fabreeze the carpet to neutralize the smell . Carpets need to be deodorized.
