Business Trip

Cons: Cleanliness, staff, the pricing on expedia is misleading
Location: Not the best area.
I stayed at the Radisson for 2 nights for a business trip. It was an awful experience. While trying to check in the woman at the front desk was rude and unhelpful. I finally get up to my room and there were stains all over the rug. Also, the shower was having drainage issues and I had to stand in ankle deep water. The hotel must have been doing some construction because there was no vacancy on the 1st thru 5th floors. These floors were busy with people and so loud. Plus the walls are paper thin, you can hear the entire "interaction" of the people in the next room (something that I would have rather not heard). Plus the banging from the construction started bright and early at 7AM. House cleaning came around at 8AM while I was getting ready for the day, I asked for an hour. Then as I'm walking out of my room the women cleaning the rooms yells down to me, "Aye, are you checking out?" I said no and she says "Do you want your (explicit word) cleaned". I couldn't believe that is how the staff treats guests. Luckily for my last night I asked a man at the front desk for a room change. He was very nice and helpful. The only room available on the floors not under construction was a smaller handicap room. I took it.

Nice hotel, close to everything in downtown area

The hotel does not have shuttle to and from Bradley international which may be costly if you're taking cabs.

Helpful staff with very good inter personal skills. Yes I would definitely go back if I go back to Hartford.

Suitable room, ~meh breakfast buffet

Cons: For a downtown hotel, the breakfast buffet could have been better...
Location: Nothing nearby! Without a car, one must uber/cab to go anywhere of significance. Full disclosure, I was there on a Sunday night.
Pleasant and uneventful. Perhaps a tad expensive for the decor/upkeep. But suitable, comfortable room. Was only there to sleep so it did the job.

Great Service, Poor Everything Else

Will first say that I had great experiences with ALL employees. They were lovely! Literally all of them! Service was great, but the hotel itself left much to be desired. The was a weird whitish substance caked into the carpet in my room and every time I turned the hot water on in the shower it came out brown at first. See photos. Because the hotel is right on top of an interstate, you can hear cars and sirens at all hours the day and night. If you don't mind walking up a hill next to the on ramp of an interstate, the hotel is within walking distance of some attractions and restaurants downtown. I took an Uber everywhere. The free area shuttle has a set route and doesn't go to a lot of attractions. If you want to visit anything not in the designated path, you'll need to find your own transportation. Had I known all of this, I would have paid a little bit more to stay farther away from the interstate and closer to the restaurants. Though I will say that the food at the hotel restaurant was very good.

Needs improvement

Noisy heat. Nonfunctional ice machine. Expensive parking and food. No gift shop. No towelettes in fitness center

Raidsson Hotel

Pros: Close to downtown.
Hotel is under renovation, not in perfect shape. Bed is small. Ok for one night stay.
