Well located. Could be better.

Posted May 25, 2017
Pros: Clean and tidy
Cons: As above
Location: Food is easily available. Shopping malls and markets are nearby.
Level of English of staff manning the counter could be better if they could speak more proficient English. Inconvenient due to absence of room telephone. Need to always go down to reception for any help.

Budget hotel stay in Hatyai

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Pros: -location and price -provide free shuttle (tuk tuk) to some points, though I didn't have chance to utilize this service, but I think it's added value
Location: - can visit to Kim Yong market - a lot of good foods available nearby
- location is pretty good, most of the places in town can reach within 5min driving distance. There are plenty of restaurants/local food stall nearby. - very limited car park, if not mistaken is just less than 10. So far, we still manage to find parking if we go out at night but reach hotel by 9.30pm. - very limited room facility, e.g: no kettle provided in the room. If you need hot water, you need to request from check-in counter. I think it's a disadvantage for family with infant/toddler. Basically the room facility is just hair dryer, safe box and a few clothes hangers.

Clean, convenient, and even stylishly simple

Posted Mar 17, 2017
Pros: location, front desk, shower, electrical outlets, branding, cleanliness
Cons: a cushion for the desk stool - seriously that's it
Location: close to train station, bus station sort tuk-tuk away. lots of shops, bars, cafes etc.
Usually i choose quirky guesthouses - and rarely a chain hotel - when travelling Thailand and stay off the beaten path. In this case, i had a night in Hat Yai between a 14 hour train from Bangkok and a journey to the Malaysian border. I choose this because it was close to the train station but was totally surprised at how great this is. A five minute walk from the early morning arrival at the train station, i went to ask to leave my bag until check-in and they instead allowed me to check in (at about 9:30AM) which was great to clean up and regroup after the trip. The room is simple and sorta minimalist zen/hip aesthetic. A comfy bed, end tables with lights (dont have to use glaring overhead) and ... plugs ins outlets all over without having to unplug and move TVs, lamps etc! Little things are huge. The shower had a really good head and pressure and HOT. Room on bathroom counter to spread out. A desk as well which i love having to do projects. I didn't turn on TV at all. The location makes everything walkable (i just strolled cafes and bars) there's lots of shopping around (if that's your thing) but mostly geared to Thais and Malaysians it seems. They have a fun photo booth in the lobby and also an App (which i just didnt get around to using as i had everything i needed). There's also a tour desk in the lobby but i didnt use that.. The front desk clerks (who spoke English so i didn't have to stumble with a my bad Thai) helped me get a transport to the bus station. Loved it.

Nice stopover

Posted Mar 13, 2017
Pros: Plenty of eating places around, and shopping too, within walking distance.
Cons: It would be nice to have more amenities in the room...e.g. cups, tissue paper, waste bin in the room
Location: Booked due to its proximity to the railway station. Though it is not exactly opposite the railway station, but just a short stroll away.
Spent just a night here as stopover for travel on the railway. As a whole, a pleasant stay. Found a dim sum place behind the hotel which serves similar food as Chok Dee minus the maddening crowd. As the ticket for our onward journey to Padang Besar can only be purchased on the day of travel, its proximity to the train station turned out to be a blessing.
