The hotel looks decent but was a definitely disappointment because the service level and options to customer was very poor. My room type was not available upon arrival. No apology for the convenience. No pool no ice machine no breakfast. Not a good hotel to stay for resources but love the room very cozy❤👍

The lobby was sketchy, the room was half way clean looking, no toilet paper, toilet was stained, floor was dirty, coffee pot was broke, and morning staff person was not happy to be at her job or to see us come to the desk. So all in all I’d rate this stay a 5 out of 10.

This is an extended stay hotel. Meaning people live there and rent daily weekly or monthly. Not what we were expecting. As soon as we pulled in there was a lot of hanging out in the parking lot and things were not typical for a vacation stay. Would not recommend this place.

I WAS WOKEN UP AT 9:10 BY THREE PEOPLE BANGING ON MY DOOR THE POLICE. WHY WOULD HOUSEKEEPING COME NOT ONCE BUT 2X AND TRY TO OPEN MY DOOR AND BANG LIKE THE BUILDING IS ON FIRE. THEN WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR (confused and disoriented) ,THEY ARE LAUGHING LIKE ITS FUN. AS A WOMAN TRAVELING ALONE … THAT HAS TO BE ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD WITHA HOTEL !

This was by far the worsts place I’ve ever stayed. Upon checking in, the bathroom had trash in the trash can, there were clumps of dirt or grout on the floor, the towels were sitting on top of the toilet, there was some type of metal plate sitting on the floor, the bed was moved/turned sideways. To top it off someone tried to break into my truck.

Desperate need of a deep clean
The stay at Candlewood served a purpose of us finding a bed to sleep on while passing thru Hattiesburg. Majority of hotels were sold out. While waiting in the line for check-in, 3 different customers came back who had just checked in and needed new rooms because the rooms they had just been given at check-in had not been cleaned from previous use. Another customer had no bed linens on his bed and no toilet paper. In fairness, the hotel was booked and understand that there are employee shortages, but systems didn’t seem in place to help the team members working have a good handle on where to place incoming people. The staff was friendly, but clearly overwhelmed. My expectations were low once i got our room. The pullout bed was broken and had a slope, the leg of the chair at the ktichenette table was broken (picture below), there screws were rusty in the bathroom door (picture), there was black dust and some mold on the air conditioning unit in the room, there was hair in the bathrooms corners by the toilet (picture), dust bunnies on the carpet when we moved the coffee table to pull out the bed, bathroom vanity cupboards broken in the corner (picture). Overall and bottom line - the place is in need of a very thorough deep clean and a full punch list of things that could use an update.

I like the quietness and atmosphere. Attendant was pleasant. However, I don't care for dogs/cats. I wish the owners with animals had a special section of the hotel to stay in so that people that don't care to be around wouldn't have to be confronted with them.

Gross - hard to think of worse hotel visit
Just gross. Mold in the carpet. Eyes burning and I was congested in the morning. Smell of sewage in hallway by room, maintenance room door wide open. This place most likely was flooded from a plumbing leak related to septic lines. Room was gross, broken stuff everywhere. Didn't feel comfortable bringing my children there. Will never even stop in this town again - even the roads were messed up getting to the parking lot.

I reserved a king bed, but got 2 double beds. Information said pet was $25, but was charged $75. It took the check in person 8 tries to put in our zip code. He was incompetent. Longest check in we have ever had anywhere. Mold in bathroom.

The room was dirty and smelled badly. There was only a half a roll of bathroom paper, it took two trips to the front desk to get another roll. The entire place was nasty.

Horrible Service
When we showed up to this hotel to check in, the staff was extremely rude and gave me a key to a room that already had people staying in it. When I told them they gave me an occupied room, they were extremely rude and told me there was a chance I’d have no where to stay that night, even though I’d had the room booked for a while. They gave me another room key, and this time this key didn’t even open the room for, so I had to go back to the lobby again. A desk worker named Taylor yelled at the whole lobby complaining that she’d already been at work for 9 hours and didn’t have time to deal with this, and a young girl was left by herself to deal with all of these issues, because there were other families waiting for their rooms as well. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever seen, there was no discount given, no apologies said, and on top of this, the bathroom was disgusting for the price we had to pay. ($300, because there was a SMU game that weekend and I think that’s why the prices were up). Don’t stay here.

The area was convenient to USM but unfortunately after checking in I was mot informed that my room was a handicapped room. Then the toilet was not clean and there was 2 roaches in the bathroom. Overall the bathroom can be updated.

Disrepair and dirty
The hotel is in disrepair and is not being maintained properly, I had to clean my room prior to occupying and had concerns as to security due to exterior doors not closing/locking properly etc. I donot recommend this location.

Thought the hotel would be nice because it is a Hilton affiliate. The room was extremely dirty. The carpet was so dirty and sticky out shoes and socks stuck to the floor. Unit also smell of cigarettes. Would not stay at this location again. Very disappointed.

It’s a beautiful Hotel, BUT the negligence of management's lack of accountability to hold staff accountable for cleanliness is a huge misstep for this property. My room had hair on the counters, sink, pillows, sheets, and bathroom floor. Urine stains on the bathroom floor. The room was not cleaned. No extra towels. What hotel doesn’t have extra towels? No one vacuums or sweeps. I never saw a cleaning crew with a vacuum. They just mop and it’s a bad job. The walls need to be wiped down with water and soap. The carpet throughout the property simply needs a deep clean. If they focused more on cleaning and not allowing the staff to get away with shortcuts in cleaning this property would get 5 starts.

The lobby hallways and elevator needed cleaning. Especially the floors they were dirty and had not been vacuumed in some time. I got up the next day and they were still the same dirty. The room was a good size but the beds are not a queen. The bathroom needed more cleaning I went to store and picked up bathroom cleaner before using the tub. I had my daughter who is handicap and my 72 year old mother who was handicap as well. People were friendly that worked the front desk.

Recliner and hideaway bed were both broken. The air worked, but because it had been set high before we got there, it took most of the night to get it cool. Previous visits were great. Could have been just a bad room and they were fully booked.
