Queen Victoria would not have been amused

Definitely in need of a major refurbishment . On the positive side, staff are friendly and welcoming, ample parking, wide choice of food, reasonably priced and well prepared.drinks reasonable value, good solid breakfast However, despite having comfortable and clean beds, the of room in dire need of cleaning, curtains and carpet stained and tired? The bathroom was challenging , warning about hot water, we could not make shower controls work and managed to flood bathroom! Staff later checked shower and said it was OK! We got a rebate off the bill , but would not recommend hotel nor stay there again

Really friendly staff. But sheets and towels very clean but. Rooms are very tired and could do with full refurbishment as everything is very scruffy. Could be a fantastic place to stay but rooms are not worth the money compared to other hotels In the area.

Bear Hotel Havant

Very tired, very dated, thread bare carpets, filthy rooms, no fan in high temperatures, but the worst thing about my stay was that room 24 has a floor that is so unlevel it must be nearly 12 inches difference from one side of the room to the other. The steep winding stairs do not make it suitable for anyone with small children.

Hotel is in need of a complete refurbishment! Stayed here in 2005 and dont think they've decorated since! Very poor overall standard of accommodation!

Fair price close t all amenities

Pros: Staff
Cons: Décor
Location: Great for sea fishermen lots of charter boats and access to beaches for beach anglers, local shops are only a walk away.
easy booking in process very friendly staff always ready to help, the hotel décor is a little tired, But it is clean and useable with a great breakfast thrown in.

Disappointing stay

My room was over the bar and very noisy until 11ish The TV lead didn't reach the plug unless it was removed from the trunking. No hairdryer - apparently there is only one in every 3rd room!! The kettle didn't work

Very Uncomfortable First Night

Pros: Location. Breakfasts.
Cons: Better maintenance required.
Location: Near the train station and shops.
This pub/hotel is well located in the centre of Havant, just 5 minutes walk from the train station. The decor and fittings are a bit run-down and in need of repair, but all the essentials are there, so I can cope with that. However, the bed in my room was very uncomfortable, with a big dip in the centre of the mattress, offering no back support. I hardly got any sleep, and I reported it to the reception staff in the morning. The reaction? "Well, no one else has complained" (translation: "we don't believe you"). They said they'd report it to the cleaning staff, but 8 hours later, after returning from my day's activities, nothing had been done. They said that someone would come and have a look at it. But they didn't, and I had to complain again. This time, a member of staff came with me to my room, and saw the problem first-hand. I was then given another room, with a comfy bed. Hooray! But I was disappointed by the tardy response to the problem. Should have been dealt with much more quickly. Also, a pair of underpants had been left in my room, but let's not go into that.
