    Hawaii Hotel Travel Guide

Hawaii, the US's 50th state, is unlike any other place in the whole of the country. Located almost 2,000 miles southwest of mainland North America in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Hawaii is full of incredible scenery, rich history, and genuine character. The archipelago offers fun and beauty across every island, from majestic canyons to pristine beaches, exotic plant-‐life to exciting nightlife. Stay at Hawaii Hotels in the area of your choice.

    Nature at its most incredible

One of Hawaii's most impressive sites is Kilauea Volcano, one of the world's most active volcanoes. It erupted in January 1983 and has been continuously flowing ever since. By January 2000, it had added 506 acres of land to Kilauea's southern shore. You might imagine that humans are prohibited in this volatile landscape, but actually it's possible to hike through the lush rainforest nearby and experience vents spewing steam, walk-through lava tubes, and newly created land. Getting to see this fascinating sight in person is reason enough to book your flights to Hawaii. Being situated in the Pacific Ocean has its perks. You can start or end your cruise in Hawaii or take advantage of the cheap hotel deals Hawaii has to offer to experience the many wonders mother nature has in store for you. Humpback whales migrate from Alaskan feeding grounds every winter to holiday in the warm waters surrounding Hawaii. If you're lucky, you might see a frolicking whale leap out of the water during one of many whale-watching catamaran cruises. Equally, dolphins seem to love Hawaiian water, and glass bottom cruises are the ideal way to view these intelligent animals in their natural habitat.

The islands are also home to some of the biggest waves on earth. Waves at Jaws Beach on Maui can reach heights of 70 feet and move at 30 miles per hour. For this reason, it has become something of a Mecca for experienced surfers the world over.

For people who like their sea slightly less choppy, Hawaii also has some of the world's most beautiful snorkeling spots. Molokini, for example, has the clearest water in Hawaii, with visibility often at 200 feet, and is teeming with vibrant aquatic life. Take advantage of Hawaii hotel deals – whether you like your waves big or small - so you can stay at the best hotels in Hawaii to enjoy the islands’ waters.

From the air, a helicopter ride along the Kohala Coast explores stunning sea cliffs opening into the majestic valleys of the Kohala Mountains. Much of Hawaii is not accessible by foot, but a helicopter ride offers an unparalleled vantage above untouched landscape.

    Cultural embrace

The culture of the native Hawaiian people has been enjoying a proud rebirth. The best way to experience this cultural uprising is at a Polynesian Luau, where the history, music, and dance of Hawaii are celebrated by women in grass skirts, men with face paint, and crowds of fire dancers.

Of course, Hawaii had a major part to play in the Second World War, and the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor pays tribute to the men and women who lost their lives on December 7, 1941.

Be it on land, in the ocean, or from the air, the true power and beauty of nature reveals itself in Hawaii. But while its volcanoes bubble and its waves roar, the people of these islands are able to relax, smile, and enjoy the finer things in life. And when you visit, they'll encourage you to do the same when you stay at hotels in Hawaii – no matter if you prefer luxury hotels, 5 star hotels or enjoy all inclusive hotels in Hawaii. This state like no other is ready for you.

    "Halekulani Delivers!"
We had the opportunity to spend a week at this wonderful hotel in September. Having previously stayed in Honolulu at the Royal Hawaiian several times we had heard much about the Halekulani and as such had very high expectations going into our visit. I can say without no ambivalence that this was once of the finest stays we have had anywhere (including beyond Hawaii). This hotel understands the definition of service. The attention to every little detail is amazing. From cleanliness, to decor, to attentiveness of all the staff ranging from housekeeping, check-in, concierge, dining staff, valet, bell staff is absolutely second to none. I looked high and low for something that that did no attain the highest standards and could find none. We dined at Le Mer, a highly regarded Michelin-starred restaurant for a very good reason. Exquisite food, presentation, service, ambiance and a view second to one. Yes, this was a ghastly expensive dining experience but nothing was left to chance or fell short. The Lewers Lounge music was world class, the setting luxurious yet comfy, the cocktails and bites were top flight. Orchids restaurant serves an incredible full breakfast that is a must over the buffet. Last but not least the House Without a Key continues to deliver great Hawaiian music and excellent hula!

"Beautiful beach hotel in a peaceful neighborhood"
Beautiful charming hotel with attentive staff. From the moment my husband & I pulled up to the lobby we were treated like royalty. Our room overlooked the dolphin lagoon & was clean, large, peaceful & we especially liked the his & hers closets & vanities. The massages & facials at the spa were amazing, as were the private treatment rooms & estheticians. We celebrated our 25th anniversary at Hokus & had a delicious & memorable dinner! I can't say enough about the hotel beach & the beautiful grounds. The Kahala Hotel & Resort is by far our favorite hotel! We will definitely be back again very soon!

    "A Polynesian piece of Heaven"
If you want a quiet relaxing, extra special get-away on Maui, book a stay at The Ritz Carlton Kapalua. The beauty of the property was realized as soon as we pulled into the drive. A warm Aloha greeting as we walked into the open air lobby to view the beauty of the pool and ocean below. The rooms have wood floors, and island décor which evoke a homey feel. The hotel is also interesting because the lobby is actually on the 6th floor, so if your room is on the 5th floor, you go down to your room. If was very fun and unique. Overlooking the grounds and the pool is The Terrace Restaurant. It is a great place for breakfast; with a diverse selection of food, and great service. There are seven other restaurants and lounges plus private dining, so more than enough to keep everyone happy! The Ritz Carlton also offers a workout room, a Spa and several very nice shops! The pool is marvelous; three tiers, ample lounge chairs, cabanas, and lounge beds. Making sure we were taken care of was on the top of the list. Towels laid out, chairs arranged and of course pool side libations and treats. The Ritz Carlton Kapalua is a property of gorgeousness, and tranquility.

    "Perfect location with beach access."
Waikoloa Beach Marriott has a good standard of accommodation and facilities. The prepaid breakfast selection is excellent. Staff are helpful and courteous when needed. We found it an ideal location for visiting other areas of the Big Island. Shops across the road are useful for daily needs, gift or special purchases. There are several good restaurants and a food hall on the complex. Waikoloa Beach Marriott has it's own beautiful beach which seems to be used by residents only. It has easy access with sunloungers and watersports available. If you like a busy resort then think about Hiloor Kona instead.
