Dishwasher didn’t work until we spent half an hour cleaning it The blender was filthy and we had to clean it also. The BARBEQUE CAUGHT ON FIRE! - hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guests from the looks of it. Toaster didn’t work. I called a month ahead to let them know we had increased our numbers but I was basically accused of being a liar, even though I showed my phone log and long distance charge. We have stayed there numerous times and it has definitely gone downhill and we won’t be back.

We loved our stay. The condo was beautiful, pool was perfect, gym was great. My kids loved the food at the pool bar and it was affordable. Saw whales while on the treadmill. Great beaches nearby, including the black sand beach. We will stay here again.

Toilet water flush not strong. The rate on Expedia was not the rate the hotel charged me. It was $70 more expensive which is deceptive and dishonest. Both showers did not have hot water but after we complained, then it became hot.

Beautiful location
We loved our location at the Halii Kai. The grounds are beautiful and it is a super quiet location. The rooms are spacious and the beds were comfortable. My kids especially loved having twin beds so they had their own sleeping space. The carpet is a little stained on the way into the unit, despite having walk-on rugs and a policy to remove shoes. We also wish that there was a vacuum in the unit, since the area under the kitchen table is carpeted and we would have loved to clean up any small crumbs that might have fallen. Other than that, the kitchen had everything we needed and we especially appreciated having a washer and dryer. The pool was small and not conducive to the teen crowd playing catch or anything like that, but was fine to relax in after a day at the beach.We would definitely stay here again.

Helen at the check in office was very helpful. Quiet resort. Not your ordinary swimming pool tho. Please be advice that there are two lava rock stonewalls that are in the pool below water level that you can’t see at all until you scrape your legs on it. They mention nothing about it either. Swimming area is small and awkward. Not kid friendly at all!!! We had to pay for Hilton Waikoloa pool passes so that the kids could enjoy swimming. Waste of time and money. Would not recommend staying there with kids. The condo itself was clean and beautiful tho. Seems more for older retired people.

It is a good place for family vacation and the property has everything we need. The resort has a good environment and beautiful view. The property staff is kind and nice. We had a very good experience and definitely will come back when we visit big island next time.

The grounds of the property were beautiful and very well maintained. It was easy to access both the entrance to the property and the unit. The unit was very comfortable and spacious, and was well equiped. I would definitely recommend this property.

I like how the entire place is clean and well maintained. The condos are beautiful in and out. I do have a couple things that i didn't like, there's tiny ants in the condos. So don't leave any food open in the kitchen & no beach access. Also the stores and restaurants around the area close early, 8-830.If you really want quietness & relaxing, this is the place. Aloha!

Loved staying here!!! Perfect for our family! Took a few steps out in the back and had a beautiful ocean view. Pool has a restaurant which provides delicious food and drinks. Pool and workout room provide a breath taking view of the ocean. One day we timed it perfectly to catch the beautiful sunset while sipping mai tais. Unit we stayed in provided beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, beach towels (upon request) and had a washer and dryer. Which are all a MUST when spending every day at the beach. The only thing we didn’t like were the small outdated TVs, which we didn’t use because after a day at the beach, we would knock out quickly. Highly highly recommend!!!

Best vacation ever!
Our stay was amazing! We had the whole family, 10 of us, in 3 condos and each one was excellent. The property was better than I anticipated. Just beautiful. The restaurant was delicious. The pool was a little small but the setting was gorgeous.

This property was perfect for the family. Pool was walkable distance from where stayed. Restaurants were walkable although a little farther, but still a good walk. Loved the pool by the ocean the service at the pool! The condo we stayed at was perfect for a family of 6

The grounds of Halii Kai were lovely. The pool was beautiful but sooooo busy, and the hot tub, was crammed with kids every time we attempted to use it. With Covid numbers on the rise we just weren't comfortable at the pool area. Grounds staff never once gave a smile when we said hello passing them unlike the Hilton property across the street. Checkin staff were nice but unhelpful when we asked for help to book covid tests when a couple of our family members felt ill. That was really disappointing. We figured it out on our own with the help of other locals thankfully. The unit itself was okay. 3H's furniture wasn't very comfortable. Outdoor cushions dirty and one was missing. There was a broken plant on the patio which honestly should have just been thrown out. One of the beds was very uncomfortable and the air conditioning was really unbalanced between the bedrooms leaving one room freezing and others warm no matter how we tried adjusting. Linens were limited considering we were there for two weeks and were told they weren't offering any housekeeping to provide fresh towels and bedding. We had to spend our vacation laudering what we had...one dish cloth, three tea towels for six people, and one bath towel each. Dryer was not very efficient. We stayed at the Hilton across the road a few weeks prior for two weeks and they offered housekeeping twice a week and they replenished sheets and towels if you wanted plus shampoo, soap, etc. Disappointed overall.
