Location, Location, Location. Great for walking around to shops, restaurants, bars. The Don the Beachcomber hotel restaurant/bar is nice. The pool area is great. Not too crowded (we were there in early March - so kind of the off season). Part of the hotel was under construction but we were on the opposite side so it didn't bother us. The hotel is definitely old and in desperate need of an upgrade (see construction note above). We reserved a room with a king bed but when we got there they gave us a room with 2 "queen" beds. I say Queen but they were either small full size or maybe large twin beds. Not uncomfortable, but definitely not very roomy for 2 people. We never mentioned it to the staff. Maybe they would have given us the room we reserved - but we didn't bother with it. The balcony had a nice view and we enjoyed bird watching while drinking coffee in the morning. We did find one cockroach in our room. We booked through Expedia and were not aware that there was a $25 / day parking fee and a $50 / per day resort fee (although they only charged us $25 / day resort fee - maybe because of the construction?). So that was an extra expense we hadn't counted on. In fact one youtube video we watched about the Hotel specifically said that there were no parking or resort fees. He was wrong. Would I stay there again? mmmm Maybe. But I don't know that it would be my first choice.
