The best get away ever!Posted Nov 14, 2014 on Hotels
We had a wonderful time. The staff was incredible, the food excellent, and the house a piece of history restored to let us look at another time. We were also treated to a cabaret show with one of the most magnificent singers ever. It was one of our best anniversaries ever. We will remember this for a long time, and refer The Clark House to whom ever needs a special time away.

Very beautiful & peaceful. Next to Hayden Lake but unfortunately no lake access. Stayed for dinner at the Clark House and it was Friday night & they hosted a Broadway style cabaret singer who was very entertaining & enjoyable. Food was good. Our server not so good. Will definitely stay there again!

An historical wonderPosted Sep 29, 2014 on Hotels
Great story to a fabulous house. Owners love to tell it as much as they love the house. A must stay. Excellent chef on staff. No better dining anywhere in CDA.

Unique and pleasant experiencePosted Sep 28, 2014 on Hotels
I tend to stay away from B&Bs but when I saw pics of this property I could not resist and only hoped that the real thing would live up to the web experience. Very happy to say that expectations were met and exceeded! Total relaxation with amazing views and grounds, no TVs, fantastic breakfast, and a real "time machine" setting taking you back to a simpler time. Not for everyone but if this sounds nice you will likely love it.

A little isolated but worth the effort.Posted Sep 26, 2014 on Hotels
Beautiful old lady that has been coaxed back to health by some TLC & a whole lotta attention. Breakfast was a highlight. Internet was too weak to use upstairs on the uppermost floor but that was really the only flaw in a lovely stay.

Edwardian comfort in the wilds of IdahoPosted Sep 15, 2014 on Hotels
My husband and I enjoyed this little B&B. It is in a beautiful location and the building itself is fascinating. We were warmly welcomed and given a bit of history and a tour. Our bedroom (#5) was quite comfortable although the interior decor was a bit dramatic for our tastes. We had called in advance to make dinner recommendations which I highly recommend. Chef made a special vegetarian meal for me which was appreciated and enjoyed. Good selection of wines and liquors. Very nice fellow "inn mates." Breakfast which is included in the rate was delish. The only downside is that all bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor with no one on staff to help with baggage (which proved a challenge for my husband with COPD).

Wonderful Heritage HotelPosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: We liked the heritage and the care that has been given to this original home.
Location: A marina on the lake was not far away where you could rent a boat or have a meal and Cour d'Alene is an easy short drive to visit.
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Clark House. We ate dinner both nights at the house and the breakfast that was included with the room rate was excellent. The weather was not great while there but we still sat out on the veranda and read in a very peaceful setting. We were sorry the rain dampened the opportunity of eating in the backyard area.

Quiet and SerenePosted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The meal was great, and the piano bar was entertaining.
This was our first trip to Hayden Lake and Clark House and it did not disappoint. The grounds are very nice with a wonderful staff. The piano bar was very entertaining and dining outside was wonderful. This is a great location for a relaxing getaway.

Will not go backPosted Aug 13, 2014
nice place, hard to find, too expensive for you are getting, did not know that the restaurant was closed on Monday(was not told), had to drive 12 miles to find a place to eat. Nice and friendly staff, beautiful in the inside.
