Dirt , disgusting and and filthy

Pros: Location to downtown Helen.
Cons: Everything. It needs a complete overhaul.
This place was dirty! Bugs in the bathtub, spiders in the bathroom. Dirty linens. Run down filthy carpet. The absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

Close but outdated

This place is close for walking downtown. It is very dated and old. Fine for a last resort kind of place but not my preference.

Good base location for N Georgia

Stayed during sun eclipse long weekend. Good location in Helen GA to see north GA mountains. Free Continental Breakfast was a bonus. Staff friendly if a little overwhelmed by sun eclipse crowds. However, for a budget hotel it's value for the money. Will happily stay again.

Pick another motel in the area!

Not only did we formally book a king size bed room, but we called the desk clerk (Craig) earlier in the day reconfirming our reservation, and requesting that he hold our room until 10:00 PM, whereupon he expressly promised to do so. Nevertheless, upon arrival, Craig himsel told us that king size bed rooms are given on a first come first serve basis and all had been given away. After a courteous and respectful expression of disapproval, he "found" a room with a king size bed and assigned us to it. Upon entering the sauna like room, it was clear that the air conditioning was not working. Furthermore, the electrical outlet accommodating the alarm clock, was not working and therefore the alarm clock could not be turned on. In retrospect, when we saw a large commercial fan in the room, we should have known there was a problem, but it was late, we were tired, and naïve. We telephoned the desk clerk (Craig) who came to our room, fiddled with the air conditioner, and said it now works. Three minutes later, the air conditioning completely shut down, whereupon we called him again to the room. He came up a second time, fiddled with it some more, and again declared it operational. Again, after he left the room, it shut down completely. Having no choice, we went back down to the front desk whereupon a standard double bed room was assigned to us. Astonishingly,upon departure, the desk clerk (Craig) admitted that he knew very well that the room had air conditioning problems!

Room was clean. Older hotel, far from perfect and fancy but was as advertised. Nothing gross, everything seemed kept clean for the most part. Clean mediocre hotel room

Location good but hotel not so good.

Location: As I said location was good
Reserved and paid through Orbitz but staff tried to get me to pay again. Had to show them the printout I got from Orbitz.

Not happy AT ALL with my stay

Good location but not happy with the room. The office smelled like straight cigarettes and was not clean whatsoever. The room was a non-smoking room, but did smell like cigarettes as well (and had an ashtray on the table). The curtains were broken and hanging. There was hair in the shower. The sheets weren't very clean and the comforter had a burn hole in it. Wi-fi did not work. Definitely was not impressed.

Older hotel, value for sure. Great location in the middle of town. Easy access to everything.
