Took a Nasty Fall

Pros: Location was great.
My spouse took a nasty fall in the bathtub on Tuesday morning, May 9, 2017. Tub had no mat or strips inside the tub to prevent an accident. She was bruised a lot. I brought this to the attention of the morning manager and maintenance placed a mat inside the tub that morning. An extra pillow was used to raise my wife's leg. One of the knee's that she fell on was her complete replacement knee - she also hit her head on the toilet. We were concerned about her head because she blacked out and she has had 3 neck surgeries. Everyone was kind and helpful after this ordeal. The breakfast was very delicious. The room had been remodeled and appointed very nice. We would stay again at this location even though my spouse had a fall.

Great Stay

We had a great trip to Helen, Ga and chose to stay at the Quality Inn on Yonah St. There was so wear and tear in the rooms in the carpet but nothing major and nothing that put a damper on our trip. The outside had some wearing and chipped paint but that, in a way, added to the old charm that all of Helen has. The beds were absolutely amazing. The most comfortable I've ever had from a mid-star rated hotel. Breakfast was okay. Not great but we went 3 hours after it started so I didn't expect the freshest food and it was free so I don't tend to complain too much about a free breakfast. The room had a nice sized mini refrigerator with a small freezer in it, a microwave & coffee maker. It also included an iron, hair dryer and hangers for clothes. Plenty of space for our family of four to move around it and not feel cramped. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Helen, GA.

Overpriced motel needs to be deep cleaned!

The room was too dirty. Splatters on the bathroom door, frame and trash can. No trash bags. The fridge and microwave were covered in layers of dust and dirt. There were dried BOOGERS wiped on the headboard. The coffee maker looked like it had never been cleaned. One glance over and it seemed okay, but once you started to settle in and look around, the room was really dirty. The bathtub was probably the only decently cleaned thing in the room. It was supposed to be non smoking, but when we entered the room there was a very thick air freshener smell. Then there were plenty of tacky glass ashtrays filled with cigarette butts outside several rooms on top of the air conditioners. The rooms look like they've been repainted in the last year or so. The mattresses are hard and the bedspreads are made out of cheap, uncomfortable fabric. Breakfast was fine the first day, but after we waited in line for a waffle for over 10 mins, the mix container was taken to the back and no one acknowledged us or gave us any info and we were there early. Immediately afterwards, they ran out of eggs and sausage - by 8:30. The front desk ladies were courteous. There is now a large package store across from the motel. The room was smaller, with two beds, but not enough breathing room for a family of four. The wifi is mostly bad, very spotty and the front desk told us that after we checked in. There is coffee in the office. The office was the cleanest part of the motel. We will never stay there again.

Personally I do t care about fancy hotels. I liked this one a lot! Is not new, is not fancy but is clean. The people at he front desk are amazing. Thank you!

Beware.....

My BFF and I decided to take her grandchildren on a mini-vacation to Helen, GA. We love the area & it was the first time for the kiddos. Overall everything worked out in the end, however we pre-paid on Hotels.com. When we checked in, the clerk at the front desk accidentally charged us again & somehow again for another single night. We immediately brought it to their attention. First they said they didn't and we had to prove they did. She nor the manager weren't very apologetic. They said they credited it back however after 4 nights charges were still pending and hadn't dropped off. On the day before we checked out we were promised a call from the manager which they never did. The TV in the room had a horrible picture due to either a bad cable or bad connection. We reported it to the front desk, nothing was done about it then or the 4 nights we were there. We were traveling with 2 younger kids, so it was kind of important. One day, housekeeping never showed up, we had to track her down and get fresh towels, toilet tissue & facial tissues. Beds, bedding, showers/baths, heat/air conditioning were all fine. In the end we made due & didn't let it ruin our mini-vacation. However next time not so sure we would choose this hotel again, at least not this particular location. We were in off-season & had other places we could have stayed for around the same price. The physical location was great, walking distance of shipping, restaurants, etc.
