Great location

Posted Apr 19, 2018
Pros: Location
Cons: Triple pane windows to aid noise control?
Location: Museums, the Capital buildings, quaint downtown, Carrol College, lovely parks and terrific dog park!
Well maintained older property. Lots of road noise.

Tom, thank you for your recent stay. We do have two sets of double paned windows on the Prospect avenue side of the hotel. If lighter sleeper I would recommend booking a double queen room and requesting the north side of the building. Almost all kings rooms are on 2nd and 3rd on the south side of the building. We will be remodeling the hotel inside and out by the end of the year.

Pleasant staff. Clean and contemporary rooms.

Posted Apr 15, 2018
Clean, comfortable rooms and a pleasant and responsive staff. That's what matters most. They need to fix, or get rid of, the broken equipment in the fitness center. It's just there for show. You'd expect to find some weight training equipment. Instead there's a coke machine.

Dear Joe - Thank you for your recent visit. If you have any issues please let us know so we can get it taken care of as soon as possible. Sometimes equipment just needs to be reset - currently the exercise equipment is all functioning properly. We are looking to remodel and that includes expanding the exercise room and upgrading and expanding the equipment available to work out on. Hope you have a great Spring!

One Night Stay

Posted Apr 9, 2018
Pros: Staff were helpful & rooms were quiet.
Cons: The breakfast was quite basic but ok.
Hotel was easy to find. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Our microwave did not work but the lady at the front desk helped out by getting us access to the hotels microwaves so we did not have to change rooms.

Roomy, clean and quiet

Posted Apr 9, 2018
Pros: Big desk with an office chair.
Excellent value, especially when travelling with a pet as there was no pet-fee. Spacious and comfortable room that was nicely laid-out.

Rm 314 has tube that doesn’t drain well.

Posted Apr 5, 2018
Initial room that we were placed in on street side had a ton of loud traffic that you could not drown out with fans etc, and wasn’t very clean as if someone had previously been there used the toilet paper took a shower and left. We requested another, which was Rm 314. This room was a lot more quiet, being toward the power plant (which was in the hotel’s parking lot, made me nervous as to what we were exposed to that close up) rather than the street. It seemed cleaner, and when you laid on the bed you couldn’t see the power plant, just some distant mountains which seemed nice to look at. What bothered me was when the shower was turned on, the water started to immediately accumulate in the bathtub to about 2/3rds full on bottom before it stabilized and you could feel like it’s safe to shower at the very far/shallow end of the tub without stepping in puddle of dirty water. The night shift staff was not very interactive or approachable, so we didn’t feel comfortable asking for or about things and waited til shift change before interacting with someone. Also, in both of the rooms we stayed in, about 1/3rd of the light bulbs were burned out or the lamps themselves seemed damaged.

Dear Amber, Thank you for your recent stay, we appreciate your comments and concerns. You did check in right at rush hour so traffic is pretty heavy then. Our king rooms are on 2nd and 3rd floor on the Southside of the building facing Prospect ave. Those rooms do have two sets of double paned windows but traffic can still be heard at times. For a less busy side request a Queen/Queen on the Northside of the building. The shower issue was quickly dealt with as soon as we heard about it. There is an electric substation close to the hotel, we don't believe there are issues with the proximity to the rooms, my office is closer than sleeping room in the hotel to the substation and I spend many hours a week over the last 4 years in there and so far I am feeling fine. My business cards are at the front desk with my personal cell phone number. If anyone has any issues at the hotel call me anytime. We always appreciate any issues being brought to our attention so we can dealing with them quickly to make one's stay as enjoyable as possible.

Good for a quick trip!

Posted Apr 3, 2018
All was fine - only downside was noise - we were on road side and road traffic was very noticeable. Also - adjoining room shower was also loud. Rooms were clean, staff efficient, and breakfast the usual free fare. Would stay again for a quick trip to Helena!

Thank you for your recent stay. The queen / queen rooms on the Northside are quieter - not on the Prospect Avenue side of the hotel. We will be evaluating the plumbing when we remodel later this year.

No go, ever again.

Posted Mar 29, 2018
Pros: Breakfast wasn't terrible.
Cons: Training for hotel staff on professional attitudes. Proper display of advertised amenities. (No false pics.) Clean your dang hotel. Dog feces.
Location: Freeway. Interstate. One way in, one way out. Get lost.
Barking dogs! Didn't know it was a k9 friendly hotel. Dog vomit on the hallway steps. Didn't get cleaned up. Very rude receptionist. Very dirty rooms. Toddler needed lots of monitoring. Only three pieces of dog food removed from her mouth. Two rooms, one booked by expedia. Couldn't use VA discount on expedia booking. Yea, I could go on. Not again.

Dear Anonymous, I am sorry for the issues you experienced. It would be nice to know the dates of your stay and where you stayed so we could address the issues you mentioned. We log all issues so they can be addressed - we certainly would have addressed a toddler finding dog food in a room. No one on staff recalls an incident like that. There are dog shows in town which sometimes brings more dogs than normal. All hotels allow pets some just charge more for it. We strive to provide quality accommodations at a reasonable price.. We do inspect our rooms prior to sale. When booking through a third party the guest service agent is not allowed to change rates, etc. that is negotiated with the company at the time of booking. Please give a property the opportunity to fix an issue by letting them know about it as soon as possible. We would always offer an different room that you could check out before staying. Helena has some tricky streets, most people once they get the lay of the land find simple ways to get to us. The snow has been melting and but we have been working diligently to keep the outside cleaned out and as neat as possible. Winter has been particulary rough this season on our outside features. Once again sorry for the difficulties in your stay - we will be undergoing a full property remodel by the end of the year and will give us a sparkling new product to present to you in the future.
