Lovely room, good location, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast a bit limited. The booking through Expedia was simple, but the hotel received a booking for 2 single rooms, one in the wing name spelling, and neither with breakfast, whereas my receipt stated 2 double rooms, including breakfast, and in the correct names. Luckily the hotel were amiable.

The room was beautifully appointed, with the bathroom and changing area well separated from the sleeping area. The balcony gave a nice view of nearby architecture. The location of the hotel was in walking distance to the main Republic plaza, dining, and the Palais des Beaux Arts. The Citadel park, also in walking distance, served as a viewing point of the solar eclipse. Eurostar train service to London and other locations in mainland Europe was a short 20 min walk away. The buffet breakfast was excellent and I especially appreciated the water spiggets on each floor to fill up your water bottle with either plain filtered or carbonated water. The front desk was mostly helpful, although one woman could have used additional customer support training in cheerfully answering questions. The room was cooled to a comfortable temperature, a welcome respite from the outside heat wave. All in all a wonderful experience. I would return.

The hotel is perfectly situated, within easy walking distance of Lille’s beautiful old town, and with an underground car park - albeit an expensive one - just steps away from hotel door. We received a warm welcome from Hugo in reception. Our rooms were spacious and immaculately clean, with a large bathroom area, walk-in shower, ample towels and Occitane toiletries. There was a separate loo. The bed was large and one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in, and the bedding immaculately laundered and excellent quality. We only stayed for one night, but wished it had been more! We hope to return to Lille and if we do, we’ll certainly stay there again.
