We had trouble finding our hotel - it was called 'Rantasipi' when we booked but had changed its name to 'Cumulus' before we arrived (and the staff hadn't thought to notify guests of the hotel's new name!). When we finally got there we were rather disappointed at the hotel's condition. It does need the renovation which is currently occurring. On the other hand our room was reasonably clean and comfortable. (No hot drink making facilities of course - and the dinner option was expensive). Also the building noise was not particularly disturbing - at least in the room we were in. The high point of our stay was certainly the breakfast - lots of choice (including hot food if you don't need an early breakfast). Beware - the free hotel bus which goes to this hotel and to the Holiday Inn can be extremely crowded.

Basic......

Pros: Reception staff were very helpful
Cons: Spend money on the rooms , very dated and run down.. bathroom was dirty and stained,
This hotel is ok just to get your head down between flights. Breakfast left a lot to be desired and evening menu not very extensive, but the steak we had was very nice.

Great hotel. Great value!

Great experience. Super friendly staff (spoke perfect English) and lots of amenities (sauna!!!!). The hotel shuttle takes you right to the front door and comes every 30 mins from platform 21 at helsinki airport. The breakfast cost 16 euro and is delicious buffet style and starts at 4am which was perfect since I was so jetlagged. Newly renovated and very clean. I stayed in the economy room and it was simple and perfect with a 40 inch flat screen TV. The wifi was fast and no complaints at all.

Good for airport convenience

Booked this hotel to be closer to the airport. This is a proper airport hotel located in the midst of busy highways. Has a swimming pool and sauna which I did not use. Fairly good complimentary breakfast. Room was ok. Being a tourist in Finland, this was my final place of stay before flying out, and expectedly the atmosphere was as 'touristy' as the the other places. Biggest plus point would be the free airport pick-up and drop. Stayed December 2016

Nice option near the airport

Pros: Location
The hotel is conveniently located near the airport. It offers free shuttle and has a mall nearby (with a big supermarket, places to eat, pharmacy etc). The hotel is simple, but it is great if you need a place to stay overnight before flying the next day.

Convenient for the airport

Standard hotel near to the airport. Not much in the local area other than other hotels. It also can be difficult to get a taxi at the airport as the drivers do not want to take such a short fare (however you would have to walk down the main roads to get there without a car / taxi).

Only if u want to be near airport.

Very small room. Was asked to pay 10 euros for every hour earlier than check in time as bed because we arrived early. I arrived 4 hours late for second check in on my return trip. I wonder whether they will will give me back 10 euros for every hour late? common.. its a service to guest there could be more flexibility especially if you have a room readily available. Nothing to shout about except that its got free huttle service from airport. Or else I would give this hotel a miss. I must admit I saved alot on transportation. Rooms were very small. I booked a triple room and expected a third bed but their ide of the third bed was a sofa that had bedsheet and pillow on it. It was inadequate in size to qualify for a bed. even my 6 year old child couldnt sleep comfortably in it. How can this be sold as a triple room? If you dont have just say you dont have it. Breakfast was not elaborate but adequate. Cold breakfast from 4 am which is good and hot breakfast from 6am.

Cons: Air vent in room conducts noise from somewhere. Constant voices echoing in roomfrom people socializing.
Location: Convenient for Vantaa airport
Satisfactory, but sleeping difficult due to noise.

Nice and Comfortable stay

Pros: Very near to the airport, free shuttle service, small and cozy room, great staff at the reception, beautiful restaurant, comfortable stay ,
Cons: Checked in at 2300 hrs and checked out at 1200 hrs next day, total stay 13 hrs, my flight was at 2020 hrs, requested to extend my check out time for few more hrs without paying extra money @ 10 $/hr, unfortunately declined by the staff , had to check out at 1200 hrs and spent 8 hrs at the airport which was very tiring and boring, hotel staff could have been more courteous and accomodative towards their customers, but i have no grudge or any complaint against any hotel staff, may be they could not do so because of hotel policy and rules, wish them good luck
Location: could not explore the city, short 13 hrs stay, location is great due to the short distance from the airport
