Great spot for exploring HelsinkiPosted Aug 26, 2015
Stayed 5 days at the Radisson Seaside as part of a 3 week Scandanavian tour. Rooms are large and nicely furmished. Our family of 5 had 2 rooms, a Superior suite and a Family room. Both had the same large floorplan, but the suite had a nice balcony and harbour view, The extra space was great for our daughters 18,18 and 21. Rooms could easily accomodate 4. Excellent value for money. The hotel was renovated out of an historic harbourfront Cheese warehouse and has interesting features. Great friendly staff. Large generous breakfast buffet. Decent gym. Lovely sauna. Good common areas. And for us, an excellent location to explore downtown Helsinki.

Nice and close to Center but no Beach BenefitsPosted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Price was right, close to center and breakfast was great.
Cons: Staff attitude and cleanness as well as over all face lifting of carpets in side and look on the outside. Should not emphasize closeness to beach.
Location: Close to center one simple train ride back and forht but not much to do around the hotel.
The hotel is nicely located within a simple train ride from the center. Closeness to the beach really does not mean anything to the guest because the beach is not developed and under some long term construction project. Some of the staff of the hotel are helpful. Others are not. Management would do a great service to itself and the guest if they give more attention to some members of the staff that are simply unpleasant and not helpful. The breakfast is a great asset but the overall cleanness of the hotel must be improved. The lobby facilities are sometimes no clean at all and sometime borderline clean, so children cannot really use them because no parent should take the risk of sending children into such facilities. The over all cleanness of the hotel is an issue. Huge stains reside peacefully on all the floors of the hotel and give a sense of 'this is not a very clean place' everywhere you go. The rooms are nice but very small and the building is in dire need of some obvious renovation or at least face lifting.

Posted Aug 16, 2015

comfortable hotel in waterfront locationPosted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: Terrific breakfasts. helpful staff.
Cons: Better temperature control in bedrooms. Offer decaffeinated REAL coffee. Put pure cotton sheets on the beds instead of polycotton (too hot in summer).
Location: Handy for walks on the beach and exploring the city centre. There is a tram stop right outside.
this hotel is located close to the ferry terminals and handy for the beach and parks. It's a short journey by tram from the centre of Helsinki. Our room was very comfortable with a good bathroom. Hotel breakfasts had lots of choice and were well prepared. We spent 3 nights there and found it a good base for sight seeing.

Close to West Ferry TerminalPosted Aug 12, 2015
Pros: Close to the West Ferry Terminal, if you plan to walk there for ferry to Tallinn.
Cons: The room looks dated though clean and tidy.
Location: A really local market square round the corner of it, if you are interested in really local things instead of the tourist things.
Two tram stations away from the West Ferry Terminal (Tallink to Tallinn). Not particularly close to other attractions but the area around the harbour is itself comfortable to have a walk. There are two tram routes around the hotel so it is still easy to get to other places. Rooms and bathroom are clean and acceptable. Though it seems close to the ferry terminal but if you are with your luggage (like us), you will probably take tram instead of walk. And if you take tram, then why not stay closer to other attractions (e.g. the Central Station) and take tram from there?
