Did We Get An Out-Of-Service Room?

1st Room: Furniture in room was so grossly soiled that we would not sit on it. The room smelled of cigarette smoke and the walls were dingy. We asked to be moved. 2nd Room: This room was not much better; somewhat less soil, somewhat deodorized. We were exhausted so we stayed in this room one night. We could not sleep because of the roaring air condenser located above our room (we were on the 3rd floor). We asked to be moved that following morning. 3rd Room: This room had problems with the toilet flusing properly. We called for maintenance they told us that the maintenance man wouldn't be in until 4:00 pm and instead brought us a plunger. Our room was not serviced 3 out of our 9 days stay. The beds were "torn down" as if no one would be staying, one day. The air conditioning was very noisy. There were ants in the bathroom. We would have left this hotel and gone somewhere else but we prepaid through Expedia and, it was not cheep or close to being commensurate with the condition/service of this hotel. When we spoke with the manager she said that they were soon to remodel. How unfortunate for us that we didn't plan our stay after the remodel!

We stayed at this hotel based on reviews, however was sadly disappointed. When we checked in, and were given room key, we went to our room ( a minimum of maybe 5 minutes??) The hall way was stale and musty, and smelled bad. When we go to our room, neither of our keys worked! This was with 2 kids that had to go to the bathroom! We took the keys back to the front desk and were rudely told it was our fault the keys did not work ( "We must have had to close to our cells"). We had the keys no where NEAR our cell! The room was hot and stuffy, and very stale. We used the pull out out for one of my children to sleep, and there were no sheets, and the mattress was stained ( with no mattress cover). We stayed 2 nights, and after being out all day, we go to the room and AGAIN the key do not work!

Our room was an old smoking room they now deemed a non-smoking room. The toilet backed up and she told us we needed to wait until a maintenance guy actually got there

Friendly and helpful

The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. They recommend things to do around town and helped make our trip fun. If we come back we will definitely use the hotel again

Oxford Stopover

Carpets were damp and whole room smelled of scented cleaner. I expect the carpets had just been cleaned but it should not have been rented until the carpets were dry and the odor had dissipated. Otherwise it was clean and comfortable.

Front Desk staff on all three shifts were outstanding. The culinary staff was great breakfast was a outstanding.

Great hotel.......

We stopped on the way to Virginia. We had stopped before and knew it was a great hotel. The hotel was clean, quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was helpful and very nice. We would stop again.
